Remarks
I joined the SRM through the entrance exam. The minimum criteria are at least 60% in 10th and 12th and no bar on age. Based on the marks scored in the entrance exam, counseling is scheduled and selected Mechanical on 1st day.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose mechanical because I am interested in automobiles. The faculty and student ratio is 1: 60. All faculty are super qualified and have around 10+ years of teaching experience. The term exams are conducted every month and tests out subject knowledge and very much easy to pass
Internships Opportunities
The internships opportunities are very less and contact the placement coordinator for the summer and final project internships. Most interns are without a stipend and once you completed the degree you may be promoted as a full-time employee
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester onwards placement season starts. More than 100+ companies visited but due to the huge crowd of students, you should perform really well to crack the interview. The highest package offered is 22 LPA by Microsoft. Overall 65-70% of students get placed. I opted for MBA after BTech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is 2,25,000/- per year and 4000-4500/-for semester fees. There will be financial assistance such as CUB partnered with SRM and helps with education loans. I didn't get placed in an interview and the placement percentage for Mech engineers in SRM is around 55%
Campus Life
College life is very good and you could experience real college life in SRM. The cultural and technical fests are conducted every year. We have AC and furnished bench and projector classrooms. There are plenty of books and journals available and more than 1,00,000+ books available and you can take it for free for 1 month and then you should return that.
