Remarks

After the first cut-off, I applied to Gargi College. As I availed OBC quota, the college reached to me regarding my OBC certificate. After sending it through the mail, I got my admission confirmation in a few days and we paid the admission fee and got the fee receipt. And after the 2nd cut off was released I applied for a change of college to Kirori Mal College. The main reason I changed my college was due to traveling time as well as facilities. And I also felt that KMC has better faculty as well as infrastructure. For applying to mathematics Hons, you need to pass the class 12 exam. Also, your best 4 scores should be more than the score in the cut-off list to apply for the course. The admission process was no hassle. As i had already got admission to Gargi college, so during my admission to KMC all details were automatically transferred including my OBC certificate. Also, the fees were also adjusted and I only needed to pay Rs 600 only.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was always interested in Mathematics. And since I was a bit clueless about what to pursue as a career in the future, I opted for Mathematics Hons. As after doing mathematics, there are many branches which open for us to choose from. The mathematics faculty of the college is really good. We have 2 sections in Mathematics Hons, each having approx 50-55 students. In my section, we are 15 girls and 37 boys. All the teachers of our department are either have M.Phil or Ph.D. degrees or pursuing Ph.D. in mathematics. The teaching methods of each is different but the concepts are thoroughly clear. We get an assignment either after completing an exercise or a chapter. Regular tests are also conducted. Semester 1 exams were held in March in OBE form. The paper was a bit lengthy and since it was the first time sitting in such a form of examination so it was a bit challenging. As for 2-semester exams, they were assignment-based. We were given regular assignments and tests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
