Remarks

Vellore Institute of Technology is one of the top private colleges in the country. The eligibility is that you should get a minimum percentage of 75 in class 12th in any of the boards. The admission is based on the exam known as VITEEE which is organized mostly in offline mode but due to the pandemic, it was organized online in the year 2021. You will get a rank and hence go through the councelling and get allotted eventually.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is pretty updated. Especially this year they have totally changed the curriculum. In the part of the curriculum, there are no complaints at all. But in the faculty part, it may totally vary from person to person. As per my experience, most of the faculty are good but some need to improve. Especially the student-teacher interaction should increase.

Internships Opportunities

3

This is a topic which I don't know much about. But as per my knowledge students do get internships but a maximum of them are not paid. That does not mean that you cannot get a paid one but it's not easy to get one.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements of VIT are much better than 90 percent of colleges in the country. In 2019-20 the median package is 6.5 lakh as per NIRF data and the average is 7.5 lakhs in 2021 which is more than most of the recently based NITs and the northeast NITs. About 90% of the students get placed. About 800+ companies visit every year. The safest branch here is CSE.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees can pretty vary from student to student. The fee is divided into 5 categories as per your rank a 1000 rank student, as well as a 20000 rank student, can both get CSE but the only difference is that the 1000 ranks fees would be around 1.98 lakhs and the 20000 would be about 5 lakh. The top 100 student in VITEEE gets the scholarship. You can get more information at www.vit.ac.in

Campus Life

4.5

I have not visited the campus yet. But as I have heard from my seniors the campus life is good. The hostels are pretty good and you will mostly get most of the amenities you can think of in a college. The fest RIVERIA organized is one of the 4th largest fest organized in India(As from some websites). The library is very big and consists of all books you can think of.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
