I always dreamt of becoming a nurse and serving mankind, hence opted for this course at this college because it provides a right blend of academics and clinical exposure to begin a global career in this domain under the guidance of highly qualified and experienced faculty. This college also offers post graduate courses in nursing to enhance one's skillsets and knowledge about this field.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty is the backbone of this college. They are highly qualified with good knowledge and excellent work experience. They impart knowledge not only through books and notes but also through practical sessions on regular basis and are always willing to support and assist if anyone faces any issue.The course curriculum is quite thorough and updated as per the latest medical researchs and advancements which helps us to be well prepared for the real life problems and tasks.
Placement Experience
The placements are passable and depend on how knowledgeable and capable you are in terms of practical skills. Around 70% students get a job through state level job fair conducting by the college annually known as 'Pragathi'. There are many other job fairs conducted in the college from time to time by various public and private health organizations to hire students. The payroll ranges from 4-5 lakhs per annum.
College Events
Various activities take place in this institution around the year. There is a NSS unit that conducts various blood donation camps, health and patient guidance camps, community awareness programs related to AIDS, forestation and monument preservations in rural areas frequently. National, state and district level sports events and competitions are organized by the Alva's Educational Foundation annually. Scholarships are provided to well deserved and underprivileged students. Annual fest, freshers and farewell party, independence day, republic day, christmas and diwali celebration, annual sports meet and various conferences and seminars are conducted by the college throughout the year to withdraw boredom and stress from students' minds.
Campus Life
The infrastructure of this college is adequate. It has huge library with thousands of books and many journals along with good internet facility. There is separate hostel for boys and girls with a hygienic mess, however, the taste of food is decent. The rooms are spacious with clean washrooms. Transportation facilities are provided to commute from college to various centres of clinical posting and also whenever there's a special need for it. It also provides sports facilities to preare students for various competitions. There are well furnished and equipped laboratories along with a computer lab for practical purposes.
