Remarks

VELS University is prestigious but also affordable; unlike a lot of B-schools. The reputation of the college helps gain placements and the MBA program follows proper objectives for career growth. Ranked as one of the best colleges in the South, admissions here are quite sought after by students and I consider myself lucky for having gotten in.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

At VELS the entire staff is vastly experienced and majority of them have at least 20 Publications to their name. Most of the faculty are PhDs in their subjects which ensures endless educational value not just in terms of the job market but also further research in Business Administration. The curriculum is designed keeping in mind very specific business sector needs and tends to most branches of Commerce as a discipline.

Placement Experience

4

Tata Consultancy Services, IBM, HCL, Microsoft, Big Bazaar, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HSBC are some of the regular recruiters with the college. Apart from regular placements there is also soft skills training and focus on general career development. The number of companies visiting and number of students participating has grown significantly every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

VSAT (Vels Scholarship Admission Test) is an online assessment available to only Undergraduate Students. The test aims to reach over 500 students and aid them financially. However for Post Graduate students there is no in house scholarship program but aid (in thr form of loans) is accessible as it is recognized University.

Campus Life

4.5

Student clubs are abundant and versatile and catering to almost every stream of education available in the college. The Tycoon Club and Entrepreneurial Development Club are the chief attractions for students of Commerce and Management. There are dedicated clubs for extracurriculars like Dancing and Film Making. Infrastructure is decent and housed with all possible with amenities. There is a certain code of conduct with regards to proper dressing and decorum for the campus which is well defined and gives the campus a greater more formal feel.

Hostel Facilities

5

Separate hostels for men and women. Comes with AC, Wi-Fi, Meals, and even an indoor game space. Apart from the fees there is Rs. 5000 refundable security deposit. There is even a laundry service and outings are allowed on weekends as well as weekdays in the evening. Infrastructure being one of the strong points of the campus, hostel facility is amazing.

Admission

VELS holds the VEE which is a common entrance test for admission to the college, other than taking CAT/XAT/MAT scores in consideration. For your application to be considered, you must have scored at least 50% in your undegraduation.

About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is fairly relevant and comprehensive, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It provides a good foundation for technical knowledge, but including more industry-oriented projects, hands-on training, and updated technologies would make it even better for future career opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Studying Master of commerce is okay. The same thing and few same subjects which I studied in undergraduate. Classes are good and we are also having some gaps. Not a big difference and 1 or 2 subjects are new for us. I want to suggest that to give holiday after the semester exams. But not before that. It is quite difficult for us to study. It will be easy for us to ask doubts.
