Remarks

College is affiliated with the University of Delhi, so you need to apply for the application form of the university online. Generally, it's released after the declaration of 12 board results as admissions were purely based on merit (12th marks) till 2021 but DU has made the plan to opt for CUET from 2022 onwards. Only the marks of physics, chemistry, and biology/mathematics are considered for making the merit. Reservation is based on central government criteria: 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 5% PWD, 10% EWS and 27% OBC - NCL. The admission process is completely online.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

It's one of the best institutes in India for pursuing a B.Sc Hons. Food Technology with the best faculty you have ever seen. All the professors are well qualified and with immense knowledge and experience. They take care of everything from the personal issues to the academic problems of every student. Every student is provided with a mentor from the first year itself.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college itself gives internship opportunities in summer break after the first year. It has well-equipped labs. Students can also join internships in the industry, the college has quite a good name so it's very easy to get an internship at any place like FICCI, Amul, Britannia, Haldiram, etc.

Placement Experience

4

The college has an active placement cell, a number of the company visited every year. The college has a good placement record since it has a direct link-up with industries and has a strong alumni network. The minimum package offered is 1.80 lakh to a maximum of 3 lakh per annum. But most of the students don't opt for placement and choose to go for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is so less in comparison to other food Technology Colleges and the exposure this college will provide is much more. Also, there are various scholarships available in the college every year like PFNDAI, DBT scholarship, etc. But if you're out of Delhi then you have to bear extra money of 5k-6k every month as rent since only freshers are allowed to stay in a hostel not 2nd and 3rd-year students.

Campus Life

4.5

College campus is not that big like Universities but still, it's enough to roam around and enjoy. The vibe of the college is so colorful, having different societies like Aacharya - western dance society, Mukhauta - drama society, etc. There are different societies for photography, classical dance, fine arts, entrepreneurship. College provides coaches for different sports like badminton, basketball, aerobics, gymnastics, yoga, kho kho, etc.

Other Applied Colleges

Lady Irwin College | B.SC Hons. Food Technology

Fee was three times more than Shaheed Rajguru College.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

The students become eligible for campus placements in the 3rd year of their graduation. Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Remarks:

Good Remark: The college environment made it possible for me to have great friends and be the person who I have become. The teachers and facilities of well-equipped labs, guest lectures, events, library, etc. made it possible for us to have a great campus life. Bad Remark: The college management needs to update the library norms that they have (which made it difficult for us to have books for the weekend to study) and also need to provide students with better placement opportunities from the same field as the specializations.
