N.Srikanth's Review On GITAM, Hyderabad

I have taken GATE which mean Gitam Admission Test and scored 85 marks in it. Secured 4k rank and got admission into Hyderabad campus in counselling. We can get any branch if we score 4k rank at present.

We will be focused on all fields of mechanical as well as all branches basics will be taught. Designing will be much focused as we have drawing, catia, l and more subjects related to computer aided designing. We also have scope in manufacturing as we have atleast one subject per semester related to.manufacturing.In each semester we have one business oriented subject like economics, financial, operations which are related to technical. We have 2 subjects as electives in 2 semester of final year. I took refrigeration and one business subject in 7th sem.

We don't have any tie ups with companies for internship. We have to search for the companies outside and they provide us the required docs.I have done my internship in Allen Reinforced Plastics Limited which works for Indian Defence in preparing missile bodies by using glass and Plastics with lathes and incubators. I did not get any stipend.but earned a lot of practical knowledge which made me interested towards manufacturing as those work is very challenging.

In our academic year there were lot of placements almost of 60 companies like HSBC, virtusa, TCS, Amazon, Verizon, mindtree, CA technologies, cognizant, and many MNCs visited for placing of IT students from all branches expect mechanical and civil. Civil got 2companies like L&T and one more civil construction consultancy.

We have multiple events in college atleast 1per month. We have clubs to organize them.we conducted many workshops based on the department. We have cultural and technical fests every year which is conducted in national level.We got many guests like chetan bhagat, APJ Abdul kalam, and almost of 50 to 70 cinema actors many dance troops, musical troops like sunburn etc.We also had super singers team with us for one day.

Fee structure is huge but we will be taught accordingly. The fee structure for my batch was Rs.1, 40, 000 per year includes each and everything.It seems to be high but there are many resources provided based on the amount we pay.infrastructure is taken care very well.each and every lab is directly owned by our college.

We have support for taking loans in union bank of India at low rates.Merit students can avail scholarship of Rs.10, 000 per semester. These can be aviled by top 5 % of each department based on the current semester results.

Hostel and food are thebplus point for this.Maintenance and food are such awesome that you cannot find such in any of the hotels or colleges in Hyderabad. It is very well organized and maintained by the college professors and wardens and Chief wardens.It costs 6000 rs on am avg per month. Which includes everything like food, hostel, electriciry bill, maintenance, laundry etc.

I don't have any idea about alumni. The alumni is not so well implemented in our branch of Hyderabad campus. But there is a lot of things done by alumni in vizag campus.I think we are the first batch to be graduated in each and every aspect from Hyderabad campus. And we are having convocation separately on January 21st 2016.

Exams schedule is properly organized but not too hectic.it is cool and we have 2quiz exams and 2mids for every subject in every semester. We have 3labs and each have internals and external at the end of semester.

Faculty were up to the mark but not so excellent. I expected more from them in terms of knowledge but there are few faculty who excelled themselves in core knowledge. But one great thing about the faculty is that they support us all the time. I have participated in almost 4 national. Competitions related to technical like Sae EFFICYCLE. BAJA. NGKC AND business planning. I got a great support in terms of knowledge, facilities as well as financial.
