SRM University Chennai, B.Tech, Computer Science and Engineering

Reviewed on Mar 15, 2022(Enrolled 2019)

Remarks

I have been admitted to this college based on the JEE MAIN exam. As I am interested in computers, I chose Computer science as my stream. We can find out about the college in many ways like the college website. On the college site, we can get all the details related to Admission. There is no need for improvement in the Admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as I am interested in computers. Coming to the faculty and student ratio, it is about 1:20 and all the faculty are well familiar with their respective subjects. All the faculty are highly qualified. The term exams are easy to pass if we are known with the subject from the beginning itself.

Class Size: 44Course Fees: INR 180000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are various companies that offer internships in this college and we are given the freedom to choose the internships in which we are interested in doing them. Some companies offer internships along with the stipend and some do not provide stipends. We can learn a lot of experience and real-time experience by doing internships.

Placement Experience

From 6th semester(i.e., 3rd year II semester), the students are eligible for the campus placements. The highest package for the CSE students will be around 20-25 lakh and the average package would be 6lqkh per annum. The percentage of students who got placed will be 80%. Coming to my plans after the degree is to do masters in the US.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost for the study is 1,80,000 per year for the computer science stream and the hostel fee is 1,20,000 per year. There are various ranges of rooms in the hostel and they will charge accordingly. The placements of the college are very good.

Campus Life

The infrastructure and the Social life on the campus are quite good. The college fests are done regularly for various events. Amid the pandemic, they were stopped. The library is very huge and it contains all categories of books. The management also issues books for reading purposes and we have to return them back in a certain period. All kinds of sports are also played in the college.

Hostel Facilities

I opted for the college hostel and it charged 120000 per year along with food. The hostel contains purified drinking water, an attached washroom for every room. And study table for each room. The Quality of the food is good but not as compared to the home food. We can opt for the hostel facility during the admission process also.

Hostel Fee: INR 120000 per year

Overall Good Experience at EEC

Likes

good infrastructure, clean campus and well equipped classrooms and labs.
Faculty members are supportive and explain concepts clearly with practical examples.
Good placement opportunities, career guidance and opportunities to participate in activities.

Dislikes

The workload can be huge sometimes, especially during examinations and project submissions.
some subjects could include more practical and industry-oriented learning
More campus activities and student interactions opportunities would improve campus life.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

This is the best college overall

Likes

The curriculum provided is really nice and understandable.
It is relevant and is effective as well.
The boy girl ratio is on the other hand a little less as in 45:15.

Dislikes

The way some facilities behave with students is really bad especially in our branch.
Some facilities are too rude and they often don’t want to listen to students point of view

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Training and Career development at CIT

Likes

In my college , I experienced diversed equality and gained more knowledge by training staffs and assessments

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation
