NIT Jalandhar, B.Tech, Chemical Engineering

Reviewed on Mar 31, 2022(Enrolled 2021)

Remarks

Eligibility, of course, is to bring sufficient rank for admission in this college like when we want to admission to chemical engineering then we should rank about crl 50,000 and obc rank 13000 as I have seen in 2021. Admission is going through jee the main rank which is taken by nta right this time since 2019. The application fee was 600 and reservation benefits are also here. As I have mentioned above my obc rank. I think there is no need for improvement in the admission process, it is very well fine.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have taken chemical engineering so I am going to inform you about the chemical engineering course curriculum. as the chemistry sector is developing and doing a great job like in the corona pandemic pharmaceutical industry has done a great job, so I have taken this course. The faculty is good. The student ratio in my college is 88:21, boy: to girl. All faculty have taken Ph.D. degree who are teaching us, but teaching method is not so good .exams are happening on time and there is no difficulty is there.

Class Size: 88Course Fees: INR 56000 per year

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 3rd semester, students are eligible for internships but for placement, students are eligible in the final year. The highest packet is 44 LPA in computer science and in chemical engineering highest package is 13 .5 lpa percentage of students who are placed, 87 percent. My plan after getting the degree is to serve the country through the pharmaceutical industry.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are not very much for obc category, for a poor family even it is more. So, for a general who are not taking any reservations, the tuition fee is 62,000 but it offers a 2/3 fee waiver for those students whose family income is between 1to 5 lac and for below 1lac income all tuition fee get a waiver for all categories. Campos jobs are good in our college as we have seen from the previous scenario.

Campus Life

Daksh festival. All types of books are available in my college also we have an offline library as well as a digital library. Sports like indoor badminton, outdoor cricket, football basketball are here, chess is also in Nitj. Dance club chess club music club and other clubs are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The meal is good here, the hostel registration process is very easy, also the mess and hostel fee are affordable but for a poor student it is little bit hard to pay so for it some students take loans like me. I stay in a room which is hostel no. 5 and room no.is 17.

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

My Experince at Chandigarh University: Campus Life, Learning and Growth

Likes

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
