The admission process is so simple as you have to appear in the entrance exam i.e. jee mains. In jee mains you have to appear in paper 1 for BE/B.Tech if you want to take admission to this college. The cut off for chemical engineering goes from 28k to 40k for the general category. After the result comes you have to apply for josaa counselling, do registration and fill up your choices then you will know what college you have got.

The course curriculum for first year is somewhat familiar and is common for all branches. Faculties are also good except for one or two you will get enough free time as well. All the faculties have done PhD from the top universities. There are a lot of exams and assignments you have to do so time management will play a key role in your college life. Exams are taken at a continuous interval end term exams are not so tough if you have studied well during your semester it is not necessary to study for 4-5 instead you should listen to your class lectures sincerely and keep on revising them after every class that will take you to score good marks in your exams.

Placement are good in NIT JALANDHAR. Many recognised mnc's come in campus for placements. Placement cell of nitj works hard to call good companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart etc giving students more exposure and opportunities to excel in their careers. There is an innovation cell that helps students to research and work on their innovating ideas and helps students who want to open their own startup. Average package for cse was 16 lpa and the highest package was 44lpa. Mostly all students gets placed and few go for higher studies. So this college will help you in getting placed in good companies if you work hard here.

Fee structure is very good it is divided in three categories in terms of your family annual income. If you belong to sc/st category or your annual family income is below 1 lakh than you only have to pay other college charges no tution fee is charged from you . And if your annual family income is in between 1lakh to 5 lakh than you only have to pay 1/3 of the tution fee and other charges . And if your annual family income is above 5 lakh than you will be charged complete fees i.e 164000 for day scholars. If you want to stay in hostels then you will be charged with few more amounts but as it is a government college so they do not charge much for hostels. There are various scholarships that are given to students. Scholarships are given on the basis of your tuition fees.

Campus life in nitj is good you will enjoy it if you get a chance to be there. There is a students activity centre (SAC) where you can go and do various activities like playing table tennis, snooker, badminton, chess, gym and various other activities which will help you learn new things. Various outdoor games are there which you can play cricket football lawn tennis. Other than sports there are various clubs like drama club bhangra club dance club singing club etc in which you can take part and explore more.
