My review day

Due to covid 19 pandemic in 2020, I got admission into VIT based on the rank I obtained through my CBSE 12th percentage. VIT has 4 to 5 categories of admission. If you have a good rank you'll get a lower category option which means you can get the stream of your choice at a lower cost. For each category, the price goes up by around 1lac.

The course curriculum is very flexible. We have FFSC which is a Fully Flexible Credit System, which means that we have a given list of courses and we can choose to take up any course from within that list. We can also choose our own timetables along with our choice of faculty. However, the greater your CGPA, the greater you have the chance of getting the subjects, teachers and timetables of your choice.

Companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart and many other important companies with high packages come to our college for internship offers with stipends around 1lac. There is a Placement Cell in our college which is responsible for all activities related to placements.

Campus Placements are very nice with the highest packages around 50lpa and the average package around 6-7lpa. Many students get placed in their dream companies. From the 3rd year, it is compulsory to get one internship.

Fees structure is a little high I feel for its 1.5lac for category 1 students then ut goes to 3lac for category 2, then 4lac for category 3 and 5lacs for category 4. I am not sure about financial assistance but I think VIT does provide it.

Life at the campus is amazing. You have all the liberty. Except that girls need to wear decent clothes while going out of their hostels. It's a very clean campus. It also has a very nice cafeteria with all sorts of food available.

Hostel facility is okayish. Bathrooms and rooms are decent. However, food is not that good. I had to get admitted to Chettinad hospital after getting food poisoning after having mess food. Lifts are also very crowded. Sometimes the lifts get stuck. There are monkeys and bats all around. However, hostel life is fun.
