VIT Vellore, BE, Mechanical Engineering

Remarks

Management is very good. but the population of vit is increasing very rapidly. they need to consider the available resources and then plan accordingly.

Entrance Preview

I opt for VITEEE. exclusively for admissions in VIT University. I got AIR 8105 and took mechanical engineering. VIT University has a great infrastructure when it comes to mechanical engineering and decent placements.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

They have a fully flexible credit system which helps students to choose their courses and timings. most of the courses have practical exposure. they will encourage you for paper writing which indeed helps students for overall development. Now they have also started open book examination which helps to gain knowledge apart from what already present in the books and forces them to think beyond.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Some companies came for my batch for mechanical like T.V.S motors, Honeywell, Arcelor Mittal, Danfoss, Sunderam Clayton, Derrick petroleum, Titan, TCS. but for other branches like computer science, you will have dozens of companies offering internships cum placements.

Placement Experience

4.5

I will rate 10/10. VIT does not only provide placement opportunities to computer science-related branches. More than 50 core companies visit vit every year and a total of whooping 400 on-campus companies come to VIT University. For mechanical companies like Maruti,ITC, Nissan,Vedanta,Danfoss, steven venture,Whirlpool,SKF,Escorts,Honda,Hero,Hyundai etc. They all will offer from 4.5 to 8 LPA.

College Events

4

VIT University is also well known for the diversity of events celebrated here. In VIT you will have daily event. But majorly 2 fest in a year is celebrated which include technical and cultural fest each. the technical fest is celebrated in the month of September called Gravitas and cultural fest called Rivera.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible when you get through category 1. Otherwise, it goes on as the rank increases. In category 1 their annual fees are around 2 LPA and it goes on increasing as the category increases. They also provide loans and scholarships in order to make it more affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facilities can be easily availed and scholarships are awarded to most of the deserving students each year.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is awesome and you will enjoy your four years ahead. Gender equality is good you will have 2 girls on 3 boys. A total of around 100 clubs and chapters are present here so you will have competitions every second day on sports, robotics, debates, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

They maintain a hostel with a world-class facility and also when you look at the food quality and compare with the foods served in south India. it is really nice. The accommodations are available in different classes like single bed, double bed, triple bed, four bedded, and a six-bed category.

Alumni/Alumna

The Seniors are really helpful and the college to have strong alumni networks that enable them to call around 400 on-campus companies.

Exam Structure

There is 2 continuous assessment test in which one is the open notebook test. They conduct the Term-end exam which is the final semester exam. The last two months of every semester is very hectic where you submit each and every subject before deadlines. You may have to face extra classes.

Admission

Through Counselling. they will text u and inform you of the dates and be corresponding to that you will counseling where u have to choose the required branch which depends on the availability of seats. There are some counseling fees which is totally refundable.

Faculty

4

Most of them are P.hd and they will have all Ph.D. faculties till 2020 probably. the teaching methodology is basically based on ppt lecture but during lab classes student gets hands-on experience. the teachers are very supportive and they will also offer extra classes if required.

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
