Remarks

When I took admitted to Delhi University, it was the merit-based cutoff criteria which are based on the marks obtained by the student in the board exams. Due to this taking admission to Delhi University colleges is considered tough as the cutoffs usually go above 99% in the North Campus colleges and above 95% in the South Campus colleges. I got into Dyal Singh College at the 5th cutoff which was 94%. But now the criteria have been changed and now the Entrance exam CUET is held for the admission process, which is much better as compared to the merit-based cutoff criteria.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose BSc. Mathematics Hons. Because I always had so much interest in the field of mathematics and always find it interesting doing it and surely I am enjoying it too. I wanted to go a long way in this field and achieve a lot of things. In our College, I can say that our department is very good, they were working together to provide us with the best education. Some of the teachers still need improvement in their explaining topics but most of the teachers are very kind, sweet, supportive and helpful. All the faculty members are graduates from IITs, DU, and Phd graduates. The curriculum in Du is quite simple, you can easily pass the exams just before 1 month of studying or if you are familiar with the concept you can prepare for the exam just before 1 week.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are totally held and conducting by The Placement Cell of Dyal Singh College. Last year, 350+ students are hired for internships. The profiles by the companies are mostly Marketing, Sales, Business Development executive, content writing, graphic designing, research and development and many more. The companies visited on our campus were GlobalShala, Grand Thortan, Hike, Urban company, white hat jr., Decathelon etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

totally Our college's internship and placement cells are very active, but they do not provide very high internships because these are not very professional courses like Btech, BCA, and so on. Every year, companies recruit 200 to 250 students from our college. The highest package was INR 18LPA. We have our own WhatsApp groups in which the CRs of our classes forward the internship-related messages, and for the placement, students usually approach the placement cell of the college. An increase of nearly 28% has been observed in the highest package offered during placement in 2022 when compared to 2021. I have no plans of doing the placement, I am planning to do the master's in the Mathematics course itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our Course fees are quite low as compared to the private colleges out there. Our fees are affordable too and DU provides scholarships also for the students who are not able to pay their fees or are from the EWS category. Our annual fee is approx. 15000 INR

Campus Life

4.5

Annual fests are conducted during the months of April and June. There is nothing like a whole college fest in Dyal Singh College like college fests does happen according to the availability of funds. The college invites various popular singers or dancers to the fest. But most probably the societal fest occurs every year and is fully conducted by the society students in the Auditorium or in the Amphitheatre according to their programs. Most of the course books are available in the library and some of the other books too. One can access the library using the Id cum Library card. Sports and extra curriculum activities are huge. Societies are fairly active. The societies of the College are fairly active and are totally run by the students of the college. You can see a huge crowd and exposure in these societies. Some of the popular societies of Dyal Singh College are Astitva (Theatre society), Roots (Classical music society), Zest (western dance society) etc.

Various companies offer multiple roles for placements on our campus like Nation With NaMo, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture etc. and the no. of offers made usually varies between 250-400 depending on the batch. The average package is around 6.5-7 LPA and the highest usually varies from 13-15 LPA L. Usually 50 percent of the students get placed directly from campus and rest usually pursue some other academic programs or even off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.

Students of 6th sem are eligible for the campus selection process. Our course also have placement programs. Some companies that visit here are TCS, Wipro and few more the no of offers made depend upon the performance of student in the placement cell. The highest package as per my knowledge is 13 lakhs and the average here is 6 lakhs. Sorry for the inconvenience but I don't have any knowledge regarding the job profile given. The placement percentage changes every year depending upon the respective batch. My planning after the course is either placement otherwise my prime goal CSE.
