Remarks

The admission process is very satisfying and clear. Every course u opt for has different eligibilities. You can find the application forms as soon as they release on the DU official website. Application fees are around 500. Reservation benefits are available. I don't feel that there is a need for improvement in the process.

The course curriculum is really good. I chose this course for future help and reference as I have to pursue UPSC CSE. The faculty is very good with a strong strength of students in the college. The faculty is quite good and the teachers have a very interesting teaching method. The term exams are not very difficult. If u will study what the teachers have taught, u will score well.

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides very good opportunities for internships. There is a scheme named Internshala which is in association with IQAC dept. Provides an opportunity to all the students to do internship in various companies and orgs. Like Infosys, google etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the college is satisfying. Last year the fee for the session was 16500 which this year increased to 20000. Still, the fees are not very much despite the hike but the real cost comes from the accommodation that outside Delhi people face while residing in Delhi. DU provides various chances for scholarships which u can find on the official website itself.

Campus Life

Life on campus is very thrilling. We enjoy it very much. There are fests which are organized regularly by different societies. The library is well-equipped with books and journals and one can easily get access to them. The classrooms are also very good. Volleyball and hockey are the major sports played in our college. Other activities like singing, dancing, acting etc are promoted by various societies. Udgam, sambhavam, and Aakash are some student-run societies of our college.

Likes

Personally I like my college's environment. It's so friendly and cooperative.
It's an all girls college so it's so comfortable as it is away from male gaze.
I highly do recommend this college for study and personal growth.

Dislikes

I somewhat dislike it's canteen. The food is not as good as our expectations.
The prices in canteen is very high with low quality food.
I dislike the thing that a few professors favour some fix students.

Yeah the curriculum here is so strong, it's student friendly and ability enhancement. The courses offer here are relevant and can be applicable in our day to day lives. It gives us insight into ourselves.

My college was a girl's college. There are maximum 60students in a class. Prints were quite cheap in the college cafe.
There were many fest functions in my college. I also participated in the dance fest in my first year. We also used to go on picnics from college.
India's chief guest at the annual function was M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dislikes

College fees were very high for general category people.
The behavior of many teachers was quite rude and arrogant as if they were teaching us for free.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

College crowd is very active and diverse, giving opportunity to learn and explore.
Teachers are very well educated and friendly towards the students.

Dislikes

Sports facilities at the college need to be improved.
Few teachers methods of teaching are traditional and outdated.
There is strict criteria for attendance, to maintain 66.7 percent

Placement Experience:

Final your students are eligible for the campus placement. Companies visited are HDFC Bank, Zomato, Swiggy, mahindra,EY, Deloitte and others. Highest package was around 30 lacs per annum and the average package is around 4 lakhs. Job profiles were mostly business analyst, research and development, PR and others. I will prepare for civil services examinations after clearing my graduation.

Our placement services is efficient and effective which always comes up with quality companies in terms of employment and package.
We have solid infrastructure which includes medical rooms, basketball ground, main ground, fest ground etc.
Our faculties expert in their teaching of respective subject where the teaching method is technology based and mentorship quality is demand based

Dislikes

Our course curriculum is relevant but sometimes it lacks little practical learning.

Placement Experience:

Student set in the placement from 5th semester where where is companies visited college for the campus placement such as KPMG, Zomato Deloitte, etc and number of offers made were not explicitly disclosed by the college and highest package was 25 lakhs and average package was 4 lakhs and profile offered were finance, marketing, etc around 70% students placed from my college and my plans after the graduation is to pursue PHD.

I liked the ration of girls and boys it's almost same .
The teaching method of teachers and the library.
College infrastructure and various opportunities and sports ground .

Dislikes

Events in college are usually too short like till 5 pm only .
Classes starts at 8:40 in winters atleast it should start by 10 .

Placement Experience:

English hons is not a course in which placement is that widespread as far as I'm aware . But our college provides placements for other courses like b.com etc and we have placement cell which keeps updating us on internship or placement opportunities and overall package is quite good .

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Honest review of ddu

Likes

The teaching faculty is really nice and polite. They usually help students even when u contact them after college hours.
The engagements and the quality of the social interactions in this college is also very good and very uplifting.
The quality of the infrastructure is very good compared to other colleges in du, considering its very new.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because the thought of learning about the literature of the older times was pretty exciting to me while I was choosing the course. The curriculum however does prepares you if you want to continue ur academic journey in the English field.

Ramjas the heaven on earth

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.

Shaym Lal College offers BA Hindi Honors program. But the college does not offer any undergraduate program in Computer Applications.

DU life is better than any other college life

It depends on the merit list and the entrance exam that is CUET. The merit list is declared on the DU website. I searched for it on the collegedunia website and other websites. The admission process is quite similar to other colleges of DU. And I chose the BA program, so my eligibility criteria were a 12th pass in any stream.
