Remarks

I got admission on merit basis of CBSE marks. DU released cut-offs and those who had the asked percentage in the cut-off could apply. The admission first started from the registration site of DU (Delhi University) and then on that portal itself you apply for various courses. The link to that can be easily found in Delhi University at the time of admission. The registration fee was Rs 250 and talking about the cutoff they used to give 2-3 days to apply and later they took 1-3 days to verify your documents followed by the generation of fees link where you pay your fees and you get the admission. The reservation system in it plays an important role, as people often face difficulty regarding this only. They only take OBC CERTIFICATE which shouldn't be issued more than 1 year back. And for uploading a new certificate they only give 2-3 days. And this thing could be improved by increasing the number of days given for uploading new certificates or documents.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose the course because I had a keen interest in it. And when I joined the course my interest doubled due to the faculty and their vision of watching history as a discipline. You have plenty of facilities like there are 2 sections and each section has got its own professors. The faculty to students ratio is very impressive. The facilities teaching us since the time I joined and as far as I know, the other facilities too, have at least done Ph.D., and in addition, they have cleared NET. Further, it can be easily understood from their teachings too. The way they teach is very impressive, they explain the topics from 0 to 100. It gives chance to each and everyone to understand the topic clearly. They teach us for 4months almost and then there will be semester exams. And the difficulty is high but if you had been studying from the start then you would pass and in my subject, you can even pass by reading the past year's questions and answers.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There are various companies, I would say it's in hundreds, which visit the campus for placements. The placement cell of the college organises the process through which students can apply for placements. The highest package one can get varies. But the average package is always around 5-6 Thousand per month. There will be different fields. But the most common fields are Marketing, Graphics designing, etc.

Placement Experience

4

From the 5th semester itself, students start sitting for placements. I am not that aware of which companies visited the college campus but one can surely get a detailed report from the college website. There everything like the highest package, average package, companies visited, etc. is mentioned. The percentage of placements are higher in science subjects and economics in comparison to humanities subject. Moreover, humanities students rarely sit for placement as most of them are Civil Services Aspirants. I too am a Civil Services Aspirant.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very amazing and affordable. About 11000 for 2 semesters is very much affordable in today's time. I didn't get any scholarship due to the high income of my family that's why I am unknown of it but there are many that can be easily browsed through DU PORTAL & NSP PORTAL.

Campus Life

4

The campus life at DU is very amazing. There is an annual fest followed by various other fests which are conducted throughout the year. The Library is another attraction of DU but in my case, our library was under construction so we could only use it for reading purposes. Other stuff like sports, Societies are well up to the mark. They conduct events and games on a regular basis. Every second day you will find some event happening in the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
