we can take admitted to this college by giving an entrance exam called jee mains, admission is based on a cutoff. every year cutoff is changing you can check on the official website of jee mains. you can apply to this exam by filling out the form online, every year the exam is conducted in the month of Feb-march. two times a year and there is a 1-month gap between both times.

Course Curriculum Overview

I got this course due to my rank in jee mains exam. and specifically choose this branch because it is a circuital branch and also there is programming culture involved in the curriculum like c language, dsa, etc. in the main subject we got 2 teachers, one is the main teacher who takes classes and the other takes the tutorial sessions for doubt solving. in lab classes, we get again 2 teachers. all the faculty is Ph.D. qualified and also involved in many types of research. there are 3 exams in a semester 2 minors and one end sem there is almost 1.5 months gap in each exam.

Class Size: 115Course Fees: INR 25500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a 2nd-year student so till now there is no fee hike and I am pretty sure as it is a government college so fee hike will be nominal. there are many scholarships provided by private organizations and also there is the scholarship from the national scholarship portal NSP where you can get scholarships students also get the benefit of the college fees policy that there are fewer fees according to their parent's income. there are also many internship opportunities to earn and support your studies.

Campus Life

there is an annual fest called Bharat dhwani celebrated in October. and also there is a technical fest called Ukash. there are also some big and small events. there is a decent library in nit Jalandhar you can find many books related to your course and there are also many journals and novels in the library. all the class is a centralized air conditioning system, and there are also one projector and one smart board in every lecture hall. there are many sports clubs like athletics, football, volleyball, etc they also organize inter-branch, inter-hostel tournaments. NCC, NSO, AND NSS are also the main clubs there. there is a debate club where you can enhance your communication skills. there is also a Prayaas society where students volunteer and teach the local kids. zeal society is also one of the famous societies.

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

my overall experience at the college has been good so far
the faculty members are generally helpful
campus life is active with various cultural and technologies events

Dislikes

one thing i feel can be improved is the amount of pratical and industry oriented learning
some claases can be more theroy oriented so more hands on activities and pratical sessions would be beneficial
during major events and peak hours the campus become crowded

Likes

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
