Remarks

Since data science and application is an online course offered by IITM all you have to have is apply from your phone or pc. Any student who is in 12th or above are eligible for this course. After applying you will get 4 weeks of contents. Study these 4 weeks content thoroughly and then you need to attend the qualifying exam after 4 weeks. If you are able to clear the exam then you are eligible to continue the course. You can find the application form at IITM online degree website. You will also get reservation benifits (the course broshure is available on their website). Scholarships are also available for ews obc students.

Course Curriculum Overview

I was always into programming and stuff since I was not able to get good percentile in jee i didn't get to take addmission in btech cse. When I saw this course and it's curriculum I knew I have to do this. Since it's an online course so student faculty ratio doesn't matter they can teach few thousand student at a single time through online platform like zoom,etc. Instructors are good, there is a discourse forum for ever subject you can ask your doubts there. Factual is good. There professor and there intructors have good teaching experience. They take review from student about the lecture and try to improve them. Then are two in person quiz and one end term exam and in programming course 1 in person quiz , 2 programming exam and 1 end term exam. If you study well and are able to spend around 20-25 hours a week then you will get good score maybe even S ( highest grade)

Class Size: 4000Course Fees: INR 50000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Since this is a multi exit program. The course fee depend upon upto what level you want to study. For full BS degree the fee is around 3.5-4 lakh. If you belong to (ews or obc) with falmily income between 1-5 lakh you will get 50% fee wavier and if you belong to sc/st and (ews or OBC) with family income less than a lakh you will get 75% fee wavier. If girls full scholarship are also available (please refer to iitm website for details)

Campus Life

Pradadox is the name of our annual feast. Last year it was on May(on campus) and again on August (online). This year fest is named as Paradox in Margazhi 2023. We have acess to centre library and we also have acces to the online library provided to us by IITM. This online Library contain all the books related to our course. Since this is an online course, we don't really have a classroom. We have various clubs like music society, dance club, e sports club , etc. Each student of our course has been divided into house name after national park and then further divided into groups, so if they have any problem theuly can directly contact their group leader. These houses are run by students body known as upper house council.

Placement Experience:

In our University from the starting of Seventh semester we are eligible for campus placements. Campanies like Jubilant food works, Zifo Technologies, Amura Heath Pvt.Ltd, Biocon etc. were some of the companies that visited our campus. Around fifty students got offers from these companies. About 70 percentage of the students got placements successfully. I am planning to pursue a master degree abroad

Dislikes

More pratical exposure throught industry visits ,interactions ,internships and live projucts would help students connect classrooms learning with real industry requirements .
The college could orovide more structural placement guidance .

The placement percentage should be confirmed with the college placement department. iI belive that internship pratical exposure , industry connections and interview preparations are importent for improving employability .After cpmpleting my MBA, I plan to developement my management career .

Likes

Many clubs available from Toastmasters to Campus Life, Our club Toastmasters is one of the peak highlights of our college. We regularly go to corporates to attend meetings of their clubs and network a lot.
Love the Research setup of our college. Has more than 15 COEs present. ABB research centre is the best among them
The bring in a lot of industry professionals every.One or the other event always keeps happening.

Dislikes

Campus is not very huge since it's in the centre of the city but the outside shops make up for this

Placement Experience:

From the very entry into your third year, you will be eligible to most of the placements. The training provided is very exquisite and some of the trainings start as early as 1st year. 2026 highest package was 55LPA. Many companies like from product companies like Microsoft, Capgemini to service based companies like TCS, INFOSYS etc.. visit our campus for regular placements. About 98% of people placed as far as I have heard.

It is the Good college and got opportunities in the sports and other activities.

Likes

It is better than my old college and giving free food and place to sit in the college campus.
In sports they are also helping for dearness allowance for playing matches and travelling.
They are also giving us the space to study and ask doubts without any hesitation

Dislikes

Canteen is not good and it is very congested
Some of teachers are not coming to the classes properly and they are also not teaching properly
Home guard is the problem in college. They are always making issues while parking the vehicles

Course Curriculum Overview:

Studying Master of commerce is okay. The same thing and few same subjects which I studied in undergraduate. Classes are good and we are also having some gaps. Not a big difference and 1 or 2 subjects are new for us. I want to suggest that to give holiday after the semester exams. But not before that. It is quite difficult for us to study. It will be easy for us to ask doubts.

I applied to all NITs , VJTI, COEP etc but could not get into those due to cutoff of jee mains. I applied for this course in IIT Madras and as it had creteria that if you appeared for JEE Advanced you are elligible and hence I got admitted here . I got rejected in other IITs due to lesser score than cutoff scores and different creteria. The Ultimate Real World Skill Learning Source : IITM BS Degree.

I didn't apply to any other colleges because I didn't find any better college which would give me such flexibility in terms of fee and course pace. I didn't applied so I didn't get rejected from anywhere. To get admission in my current college , I had to qualify a qualifier (entrance for this degree) exam which made me eligible for this exam. Only 12th class certificate was required which obviously I have with more than 60 % in maths. Cuttoffs are very easy to obtain. The cuttoff is according to category, for my catogery which is obc I had to obtain at least 40% marks but I get 82% marks and hence passed the qualifier and got the admission letter.
