Admission is based on a national-level test known as SRMJEE. It is held twice a year. This test form is 1100 INR. There is no cutoff for most of the branches except CSE. For the CSE core, you need to score well and should have a rank below 10k, rest all the branches you can easily get.

The course curriculum is good except for some really unwanted subjects in some of the semesters like we were taught biology in electronics engineering. Apart from that, the course curriculum is good but a bit difficult. faculty is also good but most of them speak Tamil and prefer Tamil students over other students. apart from this, they have good knowledge about the subject they are teaching and are overall supporting. There are 4 exams per semester i.e 3- cycle tests and 1 end semester exam and all are very easy to clear and you can get an 8 CGPA very easily.

Placement over here is 100 per cent. The package may be very low approx 3lpa. but still, if you sit for the placement you will get placed for sure. Placement generally begins at end of 3rd year i.e from starting of 7th semester. all the major companies visit the campus and the highest package according to my knowledge was 1cr given by Amazon Germany and the highest domestic package is 45 lpa whereas the lowest can come up to 1.2 lpa. my plan after the degree is to go for higher education basically MBA.

Fees for our batch i.e 2021-2025 are fixed which is 10 lakhs for 4 years. We have to pay 2.5lakhs per year and there is no fee hike. Other than that top scorer in the entrance exam get a scholarship and the College also provide some other scholarship but that is very difficult to get. Other than this you will get college placement for sure maybe in a low pay but you will get placement for sure.

Overall campus life is good. There are two annual fests known as aaruush and Milan. Aruush is a national-level tech fest which is conducted on a very large scale. The infrastructure and buildings are also very good. The main building's Tech park and UB are both 16-floor buildings equipped with all facilities like lifts, canteen, fire escape system and everything else needed for security. there are also approx 30 clubs where you can join and learn a lot from seniors and faculty members.

Hostels in SRM are good but very expensive. Ac room for three sharing costs approx 2.5 lakhs. Even non-AC rooms are very expensive which is the major con, otherwise, everything is good. every hostel is provided with 4 wardens and security guards and all other basic facilities are provided. Now, coming to mess food- it is ok. Not so much good .non veg is served twice a week and milk, tea and coffee is available all the time. But still, improvement can be made in the quality of the food in terms of taste.
