Course Curriculum Overview

ECE is the toughest branch of all the branches. I had choosing this course because I'm interested in electronics and want to know about chips. Faculties are not much better, because they only focus on how to cover the whole syllabus. There is no practical knowledge. The faculty-student ratio is near 10:120. All faculties are Ph.D. qualified.

Internships Opportunities

Many companies visit NIT Jalandhar offering internships for 3rd-year students and placement for Final year students. But, this opportunity is mostly for CSE and ECE students only. Such as Amazon, and Microsoft mostly. They provide internships in the code sector only.

Placement Experience

Students from the 7th semester are eligible for placement offers. There are many companies visit in the campus for placement. Rs. 44.00 lakhs per annum offered to 36 students by Amazon, Rs. 25.00 lakhs per annum offered to 1 student by Wingy, Rs. 24.80 lakhs per annum offered to 3 students by NVIDIA India, Rs. 20.00 lakhs per annum offered to 18 students by Samsung Research Bangalore, Rs. 19.34 lakhs per annum offered to 9 students by Lowe’s India, Rs. 18.50 lakhs per annum offered to 1 students by Centrify Technologies, Rs. 17.80 lakhs per annum offered to 2 students by Engineers India, Rs. 16.77 lakhs per annum offered to 1 student by Texas Instruments, Rs. 16.65 lakhs per annum offered to 19 students by Oracle, Rs. 16.50 lakhs per annum offered to 2 students by Increff.

Fees and Financial Aid

Here the fee structure is the basis of your family's annual income if you belong to the general or obc category, otherwise, your tuition fee is null. If your family's annual income is more than or equal to 5 lahks then your semester fee will be 92000 rupees, and if your family's annual income lies between 2 lakh to 5 lakh, then the tuition fee will be 43840 rupees for hostler and 36000 rupees for day scholar, and if your family annual income is less than 2 lakh, then your tuition fee is zero.

Campus Life

Campus Life is enjoyed fully. There are mainly two fests per year named Tech_niti and UTKANSH. They are conducted in February and March respectively. There is a library and a separate reading room also in campus. The library has many books but some books are not available in this library. and you can also read novels and magazines here, and newspapers also. There are many sports as cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, and football. And many Indore games like table tennis, carrom board, chess, gym. Most students like playing cricket or basketball. There are 2 basketball courts, 3 volleyball courts, also 1 cricket, 1 football ground and 5 badminton courts indoor and a separate court in each hostel also. There are many clubs and all clubs are run by students itself like LDSC, TTA, TCA, GDSC, KALAKAAR, OCTAVE, and many more.

Admission

There is an entrance exam for admission named JEE MAINS. You have to clear jee mains exam to take admission in that college. And the cut-off of jee for this college is according to the caste-wise reservation, for general students, it starts from AIR 10500 and the closing rank is about AIR 12000 for ece branch for other state students. NTA will conduct jee mains exam every year, for filling out the application form you have to go to the official site of nta and fill the form accordingly.

My Experince at Chandigarh University: Campus Life, Learning and Growth

Likes

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

Dislikes

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

I like infrasture and the campus facilites most.
Events and fests are also good and orgainsed regularly.
Students get more opportunities here in university.

Dislikes

Hostel food is not good but eatable and enough.
Dresscode is on wednesday that is must to wear.
Massive campus you may face difficulty in roaming.

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

my overall experience at the college has been good so far
the faculty members are generally helpful
campus life is active with various cultural and technologies events

Dislikes

one thing i feel can be improved is the amount of pratical and industry oriented learning
some claases can be more theroy oriented so more hands on activities and pratical sessions would be beneficial
during major events and peak hours the campus become crowded

A Balaced College Experience With Great Campus Life

Likes

i like everthing about the college.
i like the supportive faculty behaviour.
the college also provide placement guidance.

Dislikes

Some areas could be improved especially the placement.
A few courses felt more theory focused than industry oriented.
Student enagement oppourtunities would make campus life better.

Chandigarh university , but for real

Likes

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
