Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as it is one of the best among the private universities in our country. The faculty: student is approx. 1:20. The faculty is quite knowledgeable and proficient in their fields. Most of them are Ph.D. holders. The exams are held twice every semester, mid-semester exams, and end-semester exams. Also, regular assessment tests are taken to check the progress of the student.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 240000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Well, the students do bag internships from the university and they become eligible for this from 3rd year. Students can always work for themselves if they want to develop a steep progress curve ahead of the university and bag such opportunities by themselves ahead of the given time. The students can engage in summer training and projects. For this, they can avail of extra skill enhancement classes and courses to improve.

Placement Experience

The university has a dedicated placements cell. It specifically focuses on placement techniques and classes. The students become eligible for campus placements from the 4th year but can bag internships depending upon the skill set from the 3rd year itself. High-profile companies visit the campus like Amazon, Microsoft, and VMWare to name a few. The highest package is approx. 30-35 lpa CTC. The average package is approx. 6-6.5 LPA. CTC.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are comparatively less among the private universities. Also, you can avail scholarship is you score well in the university's entrance exam LPUNEST or competitive exams like JEE. Also, you can take up part-time jobs available within the campus.

Campus Life

A lot of events are connected almost every week. Students can enroll themselves in various organizations and clubs to showcase their talent in various extracurricular activities. The university has a large library with ample amounts of books and journals and much more for the students to access and use. Classrooms are air-conditioned and have a projector which the teachers use to aid in teaching. Also, internet connectivity is available throughout the campus. A lot of focus on sports is given as well.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel room range depending on what you want. You can avail of dormitories or a single seater room as per your choice. The rooms come with attached washrooms and geysers. You can opt for AC or Cooler or none options. The mess also offers variety depending upon your regional taste. You can avail of North/South Indian cuisine. The food is quite good and the mess offers variety as well.

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

Admission

The eligibility of the course is that you need to score above 60% in your 12th board exams plus LPUNEST/ standard competitive exams like JEE etc. . The application form can be found on the university's official website. An improvement I would like to see is to increase the eligibility criteria to something near 75% in 12th board exams. Also, you need to clear the LPUNEST exam to get selected for the program you wish to take admitted to or score in any exam like JEE.

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Likes

The environment of the college is so nice, helpful staff, AC labs for CS deptt.
Canteen and water facilities and park in both deptts
Skilled professional educators and tutors

Dislikes

Distance of travelling coz for me its too much far
Nothing as of now everything was good enough

Placement Experience:

- Limited campus opportunities were available, and most students become eligible from the final year. - The average package was around 2-5 LPA. - after my degree my plan is to improve my employability my strengthening my technical skill in my domain

Big campus and beautiful garden and environment
Aqi was soo good because plants and tree was so much

Mess food was bad but it doesn't taste that bad
If we Complaint about anything college mostly ignore it

From 7th sem students become eligible for campus placements and tata or Infosys companies visited and about 60 to 70 percent students were placed and my plans after getting the degree is to opt for higher studies doing mtech from iit

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

I like the machines that's why I choose the mechanical branch in engineering line. Noida , Gurgoan , Chandigarh , Bengluru and many other areas for improvements in the course curriculum and teaching methods.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late
Great mentors and very helpful teachers who are always willing to help

The hectic schedule and curriculum that the students have to follow.
The lack of certain facilities that would help the students improve thoer personalities
Too much strictness and restrictions with everything that someone wishes to do

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
