- Atmosphere of the college and affordability of the college canteen.
- Sports facilities of the college especially the GYM and basketball court.
- College lawn (Ashok Lawn) which have some very beautiful flowers and is maintained regularly by the gardener.
Dislikes
- Faculty is below mine expectations and their method of teaching is even more poor.
- Infrastructure is poor especially the indoor infrastructure like class rooms and canteen.
- We don't have a auditorium like many other colleges like hansraj and hindu college have.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have a interest in Indian politics so I choose this course. We have 1 professor for 30 students that means 1:30 is the faculty student ratio. Most the faculties has completed MPhil in the subject that they are teaching but we also have few professors who are PhD holders. Quality is far better than state university but less than private universities. Teaching method is still that age old, no creativity to involve more and more students in the teaching. Exams were conducted timely and full credit for it goes to university that is University of Delhi and one need to read PYQs to pass the exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is very very low as during mine school days I paid fee around 1.25 lakh/yearly but now I only paid 11200 yearly it is because of the fact that KMC is government college and government always give monetary benefits while framing fees for the college keeping in the mind the fact that even the poorest section of the society can afford it. There are various scholarships by the government and the university itself. We even have fee concession committee where one can apply for concession in the fee paid by he/she. If one want to get job or internship with stipend then one should look outside college and one must keep in touch with his/her professors as they have contact in the public as well as private sector.
Campus Life
We don't have any annual fest conducted during our admission because of COVID but now slowly and steadily the fest culture is reviving. Library is good and it has been refurbished recently. Maintenance of the classroom is not good and we don't have Air Conditioner. We have sports ground, boxing Ring, basketball court, gym and indoor playing area. Colleges of the DU are known for their societies and clubs same is with the KMC we have Players (Theatre Society), Bhoomi (The Eco Club), Kartavya (The Civil Services Society),Montage (The Film Making Society), DebSoc (The Debating Society) and many others. We too have NCC & NSS wing inour college which is run by college students.
Admission
The eligibility for admission into my course which was B.A.(Hons) Political Science was the merit cut-off declared by the college but now admission is now on the basis of once CUET scores. Admission usually after 12th results are announced by the CBSE and we have a university portal where one can apply for the admission. Sometimes declaration of subsequent cut-offs is delayed because the verification of the documents produced in the previous cut-off has not been completed. This problem need to be sorted out.
