Course Curriculum Overview
I always had an interest in Computer Science and also looking at the placement stats, I chose this branch. The student-to-faculty ratio is quite good despite the huge crowd of students. There are approx 60 students in a class, which is decent and manageable. Most of the faculty are Ph.D. holders in their respective fields and most of them are good at their job and have a good experience. Apart from the first month, we have assessments almost every month throughout the semester. They are generally of moderate difficulty level and can be passed with one night of study, but require consistent efforts for a good score.

Many top companies offer internships to students at VIT Vellore. Some of the prominent companies that offer internships at VIT Vellore include Microsoft, Google, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and Accenture, among others. The roles offered under these internships vary depending on the company and the student's discipline. During their internships, students at VIT Vellore work on a variety of projects depending on the company and the role they are assigned.
Placement Experience
VIT Vellore has a strong reputation for its placements. Students become eligible for campus placements from their 6th semester (for the B.Tech program). Many top companies visit VIT Vellore for campus placements. Some of the prominent companies that visited VIT Vellore in the past include Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Facebook, IBM, Deloitte, Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and Wipro, among others. The number of offers made by these companies varies every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is divided into 5 categories. Based on your rank in VITEEE you get allotted into one of this 5 categories. The tuition fees for each category are: Category 1: Rs.2,00,000 Category 2: Rs.3,00,000 Category 3: Rs.4,00,000 Category 4: Rs.4,50,000 Category 5: Rs.5,00,000 per year. The fees get hiked every year by a little amount. There is as such no scholarship provided by VIT. There are internship opportunities within VIT and also outside.
Campus Life
The annual fest of VIT Vellore is called Riviera. It is a cultural and sports festival that takes place in February every year. The festival features a wide range of events, including music, dance, theater, art, literature, sports, and gaming.
Hostel Facilities
Room contains a chair, table, shelf, cupboard, bed, one charging socket for each student. The food quality is decent with a mix of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. Hostel Registration is done online through counselling, on the basis of the CGPA scored by a student.
Admission
The admission process was as follows: Candidates must first register and apply online for the program of their choice. They must then appear for the VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Exam). VITEEE is an online mcq based exam with questions easier than JEE level, and slightly above board level. There is no negative marking in the exam. It contained 125 questions to be answered in 3 hrs. Based on the entrance exam score, candidates are shortlisted for the counseling process. The top 1 lakh students are allowed to attend counseling for VIT Vellore. The cutoff for VIT Vellore can vary depending on the program and category of the candidate. There is no reservation of any kind. Increasing transparency can be an important improvement in the admission process.
