Entrance Preview

I opted for DMI as it was a Catholic Institution as it is tradition in my family to study in a reputable Catholic institution. The infrastructure for the college was good and my seniors who had passed out of the same college told me it was good as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course curriculum is based on the Regulation of Anna University and the college aims to follow these regulations as tightly as possible. Staff often recommend additional study material and simpler local author books for ease of learning . Regular tests are conducted to keep the subjects attention on the course material. Labs are each taken 2 hours per week at a minimum for each class and Lab batches are divided in half for a more suitable ratio of students and technicians. Symposiums, Annual functions for national holidays are arranged by each individual department

Internships Opportunities

The college staff work diligently to contact various companies looking to hire interns. This however was begun after I had finished my course . In my case I interned at Nelsonin Research and got placed in the same organisation for an annual CTC of 3,00,000 as a starting salary.

Placement Experience

4

Placements is done by various companies including MNCs as well as various promising Indian companies, Placement for both core focus and general IT takes place during the end of the third year or beginning of final year . Training for said placement is also given for students to prepare for the interviews, questions and the brand new world

College Events

3.5

Events such as Culturals, Symposiums, Sports ,National holidays, Chirstmas , New Year are conducted by each induvidual department or by students staying in the hostelHostel students may visit home on weekends and Holidays, and also conduct hostel celebrations on christmas and easter decorating the hostel and sharing a special meal

Fee Structure And Facilities

The Fee structure for the college is reasonable for an Engineering Degree however it is not as affordable as a course at Anna University campus. I paid an annual amount of Rs 1,20,000 inclusive of my transport from the campus to my home as well as all other facilities, since i live at a distance of 30 km from the college

Exam Structure

Tests are held nearly every fortnight to keep students well accustomed to the material previously covered, these are recorded for the internal scoring with respect to Anna University's syllabus. Semester exams are during a period of 45+ days with the subjects distributed across the time.

Admission

I got admitted by management quota by Merit. I visited the college with my parents furnished my 10th and 12th Results and was welcomed to Join the college after which we paid the Fees for the first year which was the charges for Transport, Labs, Library and the Teaching itself. Having joined the management quota, myself and fellow students were given an additional "Bridge course" as an introduction and a settling in practice. The bridge course brushed up on subjects like Maths, computer science and English and also had activities to develop skills like improvisation and spoken English

Faculty

4

The College faculty comprises of Graduates of a Masters Degree in the related courses and PhD. awardees as well. Staff are experienced and follow College code of dressing and etiquette. The Head's of each Department are carefully chosen for their skill and knowledge. Additionally non teaching staff handle the campus and its necessary background diligently and swiftly .
