Remarks

The college is good on the basis on management, faculty and students. The only pitfall i find is poor infrastructure since there is lack of fans in some rooms. At times the water tanks go empty which should not happen. Emergency generators don’t work always. The environment is good but it would be excellent with a good infrastructure.

Entrance Preview

There was no entrance examination. The admission was based on class 12 board exams percentage. I scored 92.25% and it was one amongst the few colleges offering my preferred course so i opted for this college as it was close to my house.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The course according to me is perfecf for a literature student. In the course of 3 years we have 6 semesters with all different subjects which gives a vast area to study upon. From european drama to indian literature and british poetry every aspect is covered vividly. We read more than 20 novels every year which enhances are literary skills and perhaps gives a boast to a student.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide internship. A student can find one on his own and do as per needed. The stipend can be arnound 12-15k. The experience depends on course to course.

Placement Experience

1.5

There is a placement cell in the college where one can register and get placed. That happens once the course is complete so that better job opportunities can be provided. Being a literature student for eg i can be provided with opportunities like that in a newspaper or copywriter etc.

College Events

3

As soon as we enter the college as freshers there is an orientation day. On this day we are introduced by our teachers and our seniors. The various societies of the college including drama, dance and fashion society give their mind blowing performances. The next event comes the official freshers party of every course. In this party there are various contests and the winner is titled as Mr and Miss freshers. There is a lavish lunch followed by entertainment sessions. Apart from this the most awaited DELHI UNIVERSITY fests take place when singers and actors visit our college and give their performances. This year Sharmili Kholgade gace a concert in our college which was phenomenal indeed. Further comes the department seminars in which a cheif guest is invited and a session about a particular topic or issue is raised and discussed about.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is indeed very feasible. The fees is around ₹8000 for an year per student. For financially weak students fees concessions are also provided. This fees doesn’t include books , they are supposed to be purchased by oneself. The fees is to be paid every year through “ PAYTM” by writing are roll no and college name. After that it is paid online just like are day to day online payments.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such scholarship or loan facility is offered by the college. Students need to approach external loan sources for further studies since college doesn’t give any such facility.

Campus Life

1.5

The campus is really good and full of greenery. Our college is graded as an “ A” graded college by NAAC. Gender ratio is perhaps very much equal. When it comes to extracurricular activities there is no limit to them. Students can be part of drama society of music society or fashion society of even an arts society as per their interests. Apart from that students can indulge themselves in sports like cricket and basketball too. The college has a huge ground equipped with all such facilities. Being a government college there is no limit to students from every religion, race , ethnicity, economic background and obviously gender. There is no descimination on any basis but complete acceptance.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There are no hostel facilities in the college and obviously no mess food. I would therefore rate it 0 out of 10. We have a canteen in the college which serves basic food, chips and drinks. Out stationed students need to rent a pg. it depends on the students what kind of pg do they want, on a sharing basis / with or witout food etc. An approximate rent of a pg is around 8-10k per month.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni and seniors are very helpful. They help is every regard whethe it be studies , competitions or any other issue. They share their experiences and make us understand how to deal with the situation and it seriously helps us a lot.

Exam Structure

There are two semesters in an year. In every semester we have one cycle of internal exams and one of external examinations. Internals are of 25 marks and externals are of 75 marks. They are shared by different teachers sharing the same exam. This happens twice in an year in 2 different semesters.

Admission

After the board results are out we as students have to wait for the cut off lists to be released by Delhi university. There are various cut off lists which shows the name of every college and perecntage required for every course to take an admission there. Students need to see that either in the newspaper or on the DU website from where they get to know that in which college they can be admitted in. The dates are specified there for every cut off which comes one after the other. We need to go to college and fill a form and wait in a que along with all the necessary documents like school certificates and marksheet. Once it’s your turn you go inside where the concerned Person handles all your documents and confirms that you are eligible to be admitted in the specific course. After that is done you are supposed to pay the admission fee and that is when your admission is finally confirmed.

Faculty

2.5

We have the most intelligent teachers in our college who take extra lectures to complete the course and especially to solve our problems. We are given critical essays for a better understanding of the text. The faculty has the most educated and experienced teachers. They take regular internals for the better interests of the students.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being brutally honest I don't think that the course contributes a lot to our preparation for the real world but it teaches us very new things which I like. The course might not be very helpful in our real life preparation or the preparation for the real world but at the same time it enhances our knowledge and teachers as about various new things so I am satisfied with my course and whatever the curriculum includes I like it

In term of relevance I'll say that there are many topics which should not be taught as they are way too old and contradicting in modern times. New tumes problems and solutions should be taught in replace focusing on present.

Placement Experience:

Final year students are generally placed with an average package of 7-8 lakhs for management programs. Companies including the big 4 like EY, KPMG, Deloitte and other reputed companies have visited and many offers have been made. Around 60% of the students get placed in management branch. After getting the degree, I am also planning to appear in the placement opportunities.
