Remarks

Concluding, I can say that studying in NIT TRICHY, not only developed my inner personality , I made several friends, including some, because of whom I feel lucky. The college provides, like many prestigious institutions, all resources to place our career in a Fruitful way or to destroy us, as like both sides of a coin. It is tested in our hands to make a maximum benefit from the College. Director of our college Respected Mini Shaji Thomas, is well educated and experienced, enabling our College in safe hands. Other management is worth appreciation , and striving hard for our better future, both Students and the Reputation of the College.

Entrance Preview

I took JEE MAINS and secured 219/360 respectively, through which I secured 6979 All India open category rank. I felt this college as best option for me, and opted for the same.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our Course curriculum is well fitted for our requirements, also schedule in our College is a flexible one which is beneficial to faculty as well as students. Course structure is very focusing on research basis, which mainly contains what is necessary.

Internships Opportunities

As to my knowledge Our college conducts workshops on various topics and render certificates. Internships given by our college, in that part, I have no knowledge.

Placement Experience

4

Overall placement percentage in our College is 96% last year, which contain 100% placement for some branches. Companies include Google, Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, Adobe, L&T, etc, and many prestigious companies. Highest packages as to my knowledge are near, 30 lakhs to 40 lakhs per annum.

College Events

4.5

Coming to events and fests, our college is known to have atleast one fest or event every 2 months, be it cultural or technical oriented. Frequency increases when it goes to Second Semester, containing technical fests Pragyan and Aaveg along with department wise symposiums, while in 1st semester, Festember a cultural fest having its origin in last century, dominates several fests all over India.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is the same as all other NITs, which is 1,25,000 for one year Institute fees, hostel and mess fees are additional, around 52000 - 60000. Besides, Government is renewing Institute fees for economically backward classes, full renewal for those having family income below 1 lakh, and two thirds renewal for those having income below 5,00,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are wide range of scholarships extending their hands to much needed students in our College. I myself got Foundation for excellence scholarship amounting 68,000 last year, as I am a student of NIT TRICHY. Also there will be National Scholarship for students who performed well during +1 , +2. College itself offers scholarship for those who get appreciable GRADING POINT AVERAGE.

Campus Life

4

Campus life in NIT TRICHY, is one of the must have experiences that only some colleges have. It's known for the freedom given to the students not used negatively. Coming to gender ratio, it would be about 30 girls for every 100 boys. We can find students coming from various localities all around India, also DASAA candidates whose families settled in foreign. Also we can find foreigners here and there came for pursuing higher studies or research. As all NITs will have 50% population from the native state, here also Tamil students are dominating both in number and politics. But we can find other language students holding higher positions like Students representatives, General secretary etc... We can find many Boy-Girl couples roaming on roads or in cafes, which mirrors the sexual orientation and maturity levels of the students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

When it comes to hostel facilities, we have around 23 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls, none of the boys hostels exceeding 3 floors, hostels are wide , having minimum two to three grounds either indoor or outdoor, like Cricket ground, Badminton or Basketball court, Football ground etc. Internal facilities include gardens. In some hostels having 3 floors lifts are provided. Coming to messes, we have around 6 types of messes, covering Andhra Pradesh, Tamil nadu, Kerala, and North Indian styles, menu including nutritious as well as tasty food. Hostel and mess fees combinedly will be around 52000 - 60000, per academic year.

Alumni/Alumna

Our Alumni includes famous people from all categories, some of them gave valuable lectures at the time joining college. Seniors will be of great help, guiding juniors in Academic as well as extra curricular activities.

Exam Structure

We can say almost chilled out, as ours is a flexible schedule. We will have, on average 2 Cycle tests for each subject and 1/2 assignments, followed by Semester examinations. Lab exams will be held before 1 week of commencing of Semester examinations.

Admission

When filling of choices for JOSAA seat allotment started on June 24, 2016, I filled choices according to my priority, after consulting elders and family friends. After round 1 of counseling, I got NIT TRICHY, INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL ENGINEERING, after round 1, I went to SPA VIJAYAWADA for document verification and preferred float option which enables further participation in Counseling. After round 2 I got NIT TRICHY, CIVIL ENGINEERING , after which I locked the same.

Faculty

4

Almost all faculty in our college have doctorates, and received well education from prestigeous NITs as well as IITs. They are very well experienced compared to faculty of other NITs and some IITs. We could find almost no faculty to teach a particular course uninterestedly.

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies.
