Remarks

We also have a 0% attendance rule (you don't have to go to classes if you don't want to) which introduces flexibility in your college life. In short, a great campus at a great place with a great college life, providing a great learning experience and assured internships and jobs. What more do you need?

Direct admissions are offered to 1st rankers of all central & state boards in programmes of their choice irrespective of their BITSAT score.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is perfectly designed and there is always a scope of improvement. Students are encouraged for research work here. They can do their electives in form of projects under teachers. Many students publish more than one papers in their field of research.

Internships Opportunities

I am in my first year so I haven't done any internship yet. But bits has a practice school system, under which it gives industrial exposure to each and every student. Various companies are shortlisted for this industrial exposure including the IT giants such as Amazon, Microsoft and much more. The likes of Mercedes Benz, American express, Shell, Tata, and much bigger names give the students of industrial exposure.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is decent enough and many core companies visit our campus. Ninety five percent students were placed last year. The highest package was 18 lacs in instrumentation branch and the lowest package was around 5 lacs and the average package was 8.52 lacs. Many companies visited our campus like Intel, Texas Instruments, KPMG, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche, Goldman Sachs etc Microsoft came for internship program and many more. Roles offered to students were circuit designer, VLSI design, management, finance, software developer etc. Here in my college, every student gets an opportunity to do a six months internship in reputed companies like Microsoft, Intel, Texas Instruments etc. It is the part of the program of our college and stipend varies from company to company. The average stipend was 30000 per month.

College Events

4

We have 3 big festivals each year-Waves-CulturalQuark-TechnicalSpree- Sports.Waves is India's top 5 cultural festivals among all engg. Colleges in India. The 3 day festival invites some really popular celebrities and artists. Colleges from all over the country majorly Mumbai, Banglore, Delhi, and Hyderabad participates.Quark is also a 3day festival held in the first week of Feb each year. It consists of Robotics, Coding, Graphic, etc events. The festivals although progessing every year, finds some participation issues due its location (Goa).BITS Goa has one of the best sports infrastucture and facilites, which makes Spree India'a best Sports Festival. All popular and even less popular games are played during the fest. Most popular ones are Footbal and Basketball.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's not affordable. The Course fee at Birla Institute of Technology and Science is approximately for the entire course including everything for the four years that you stay in the college is around 15-16 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

A large number of scholarships, fellowships and other financial assistance are available to the students of the institute. Institute Merit and Merit-cum-Need Scholarships- Students admitted to Integrated First Degree Programmes are eligible to receive these awards. The merit awards cover reimbursement of full semester fees and admission fees for top ten students of each batch, and 50% or 25% semester and admission fees for those selected for Merit-Cum-Need awards. In favor of the merit awards, students are automatically considered, and students desirous of being considered for the merit-cum-need awards need to apply each semester in response to the concerned notice. On an average, these awards benefit a little over 20% of the students. All awards are made for one semester only, and their continuance in the subsequent semester depends upon the candidate's performance in the institute. Student Aid Fund- Some financial assistance may also be obtained from this fund. These awards are made normally in the second semester only. Students have to apply for this assistance in response to a notice. Other Scholarships & Aids- Student Welfare Division also forwards applications from students for scholarship/ financial aid to external agencies. The Division, in case of special need, tries its best to help the students, by all possible means. EWYLP- Various schemes operate under the Earn While You Learn Programme (EWYLP) from which financial assistance is available. These include magazine distribution, service in supermarket ‘Akshay’ or in the library. EWYLP operates through Community Welfare Unit.

Campus Life

4.5

There are a large number of Clubs and Departments on campus, which are completely run by students. There are also NGOs operated by college students. Nearly all major activity groups are present, Dance, Music, Drama, Mime etc. There are number of Departments which coordinate and have their own feild of work. Students can definitely find Dept/Club working in their field of interest.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 13 hostels and hostel fees is Rs 3000 per month. No there are no nearby PG available , you can live outside after taking permission if the place of residence is less than 25km away from campus. Food is good and per day charges for breakfast , lunch and dinner is Rs 95.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very friendly and helpful. They are always open to give helpful tips and experiences. There is seperate group of people who handles the Alumni Affairs. We also have a facebook page named 'Bitsians for each other' in which nearly have all the alumis as well as students are mutually connected.

Exam Structure

We have two mid semester exams .. test 1 and test 2 with a final exam called comprehensive exam .. Other components like quizzes and assignments are also there which happens regularly throughout the semester.i must say that the exams are very frequent one.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members are very knowledgeable and very helpful. You can contact then whenever you want. Plus, they live in campus only so you can go and meet them They are very sweet to students. They are very qualified and possess at least a PhD degree and a lot of experience in their field. Different teachers use different teaching methods, for example, some teachers use light pen some use projector paper machine, some teachers use computer projector, some use only blackboard, some use physical equipment to explain a concept. 6:1 is the student-faculty ratio. I got industry exposure. Yes the curriculum is very useful we have T1, T2, lab exams, comprehensive exam and this is very useful to understand and test ourselves.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.
