Course Curriculum Overview
I was actually surprised as the teachers are extremely good like 90 percent of them. When I talk to my friends from different colleges they say that for every subject they use YouTube during exams but in our scenario, we never needed to go to YouTube. Our teachers itself taught us very greatly. In the first year itself, we've learnt C C++ python OOP in C++ HTML JavaScript all from college Exams are moderate and in each semester there are 4 exams. The first three are internal exams and the last one is University exam whole question paper comes out to be a bit difficult
Internships Opportunities
In the third year there are internship opportunities but I'm yet to explore them. For placements, I'm sure there are thousands of opportunities but you need to have skills. You can learn them inside the college only, maybe for some advanced stuff you can learn from online courses but for majority SRM teaches all.
Placement Experience
I'm in the first year so I don't know much about it. I know a EEE Students who got 6.5 Lakh but I know he was really bad in studies and I know a good brother who got 11 lakh, he's from our club. It's like you get what you studied. You should maintain a good CGPA too like mine is 9.86 My plans after my degree is just placement as of now Almost 90 per cent of placement is there in CSE The highest for last year was 1.1 crore if I remember. This year a guy bagged 46 lakhs as of now. It'll increase as the year goes on
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't see any campus job opportunities, fees are really high. I don't know about any fee hike. I think every year for a new batch SRM increases fees by 25000. You can get jobs outside in malls and big restaurants but I didn't see any such opportunity in the SRM campus itself. Maybe there's something I didn't explore but I'm pretty sure there isn't anything significant in this regard.
Campus Life
The fests are Texus and Milan. In library you'll find all the most popular coding-related books along with other branches but I prefer to have my own book and study environment so I never go to Library. SRM Library is peaceful and a good study place but it's not for me. There are many clubs and even I'm a member of one of them. I actually am a bit too focused on skill learning and I'm not fond of events so they host or not I don't care. But yeah almost every month or two there's a dance event of some sort. I don't go as I'm not at all interested.
Admission
I did my admission by calling the number I got from the SRM website. The process was smooth with the criteria being 60 per cent in PCM in class 12th which I easily passed. I don't think there's any reservation of the like but there's a sports quota in SRM. There I think the fees are less. For improvement, I'll say they should give more time window for fees payment
