Course Curriculum Overview
I chose English Honours because of my love for reading. The faculty of my college was very supportive, helpful and most importantly listens to student's queries and try their best to solve them. Each professor has a Master's degree and some of them have over 15 years of teaching experience. My college was very punctual with examinations, without any major reason, there wasn't any delay in exams or other events. If studied properly, passing any exam was easy since each professor gave a lot of pointers regarding their respective subjects.
Fees and Financial Aid
Sivanath Sastri College is an affordable college. My fees for B.A. (English Honours) was approximately 8000. There are many scholarship opportunities available in this college especially for women and students with financial problems.
Campus Life
I had an incredible experience with campus life during my time at college. The campus was buzzing with energy and offered a wide range of activities and opportunities for students. Annual sports were held in different locations. Supporting the college sports teams during games was a fantastic experience, with the spirited atmosphere and friendly rivalries creating a strong sense of school pride. The library was good but as a reader who lives in a book, there wasn't enough variety or collection of books.
Admission
My college, Sivanath Sastri College, has a simple yet fair merit-based admission process. For the General category it requires, 65% Marks in aggregate and 75% Marks in the subject at the previous qualifying examination. And as for candidates for Reserved categories, a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, is required for admission. The application form is available on the college website along with the fees and other details regarding the course. The addmission process, according to me, is good and fair which is difficult to find nowadays.
