Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is detailed and a little different with two majors. Chose the course mainly because of interest in the subjects. The faculties are good and have different teaching methods. The difficulty of semester exams was average not that easy nor that difficulty.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is around 40000 per year for the course. This is the tuition fee and the cost to study along with the hostel and mess fees would be around 65000 or around that amount. There were no scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

3.5

Life on campus is good. There are students from around the country the campus life opens up interaction with different cultures. There is an annual fest Ankur that takes place around in the months of April or May or March. A multipurpose hall for indoor sports.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There are currently 4 hostels in case of girls all of them are located inside the campus There are only hostels in case of accommodation there are no other accommodation facilities near the campus. The food quality is below average in the hostel. Every student opted for accommodation is given hostels

Admission

The admission process was through the entrance exam CUET. For the course, it was required to appear for biology, physics and chemistry in the entrance exam. The application form and the following details could be found on the official website of the university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Semester 4, my course included the concepts of Radioactivity which has been a fascinating topic for me, and wanting to learn that aspect pf chemistry was a reason that lead me to choose this course. the curriculum is not sufficient or up to date for current further academic pursuits. the course curriculum should include more scientific instruments commonly used in labs and the teachers could preferably be more positive with their attitude and create an atmosphere where learning is chased. where the teaching doesn't feel like they're just doing their job and finishing their hours by reading ppts off a laptop. the exams themselves are fair and well prepared. perfectly balanced to score based on how much you've learnt.

Indian Institute of Science - [IISc], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)

Course Curriculum Overview:

There wasn't really any. It was mostly the friendliness of the profs that pulled me into maths. Do note that in IISc, the first three semesters are common and you pick majors after that. The maths curriculum prepares you for a future in either industry or academia. Moreover, one can take courses in other departments to help their industry pursuits. Only way would be to make some courses more interactive, but this hasn't been a problem for me personally. Most high level courses have two exams. Sometimes not even that. And exams generally aren't difficult for someone who has kept up with the course.

Placement Experience:

Our university has a training and placement office for the fourth and fifth year students. Before that you need to find internship opportunities yourself. The significant companies include EY, MoSpi, RBI, NSE etc. The is around 50% placements. The highest package was around 40 lakhs and the lowest 5 lakhs. I plan on working in the RBI after my degree.
