What Students Say

Likes

I like the overall experience at NITJ as I have created some everlasting memories here.

Dislikes

I don't like the mess food as it's not worth the mess fee.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose the ICE branch because it is a rare branch found in some IITs and some NITs, it has a very vast region of opportunities for students in Gate as well as campus placement Faculty to students ratio is also decent approximately one 10 faculty ov00 ser 1tudetsn. Faculties are highly qualified and are pass-outs from IITs and also GATE qualified. Exams are held every month Exams are not so tough.

Class Size: 114Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

For Internship companies are lesser in number as compared to Placement. But it is good to get an internship off campus. Many students have done campus internships at Microsoft Amazon and other very good companies.

Placement Experience

After generally 6th semester students are eligible for placement. Almost more than 70 companies visit our campus for Campus Placement The highest Package offered till now is 1.2 cr The average package is around 10 lpa Approximately 75% of students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for one semester is a 62500 tuition fee. 25500 hostel and other charges 25000 mess fee. I haven't availed any scholarship Although there are banks that provide education loans to students studying in college with low-interest rates.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is good. Utkansh is the biggest cultural fest of NITJ. TechNITi is the tech fest here. Almost all books are there in the library but you won't need them as hardly anyone uses them as everyone has a soft copy Classrooms are well furnished with all modern technical equipment. Every hostel is provided with a court and also there are good courts on the campus itself where competitions are held Spice is the society run by ICE students.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Table Chair Beds and Almirah are provided for every student. Food is decent in BH hostels but not so good in MBH hostels. Registration for the hostel is done on a first come first serve basis No, I haven't rented a room.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

The eligibility criteria to get admission at NITJ is via JEE Mains. The Admission at first place is carried out by JOSSA counseling which confirms which college we will get and after that, we visit the campus of the allotted college for further rounds. Improvement should be in the area of Scholarships for financially weak students. Although the college is working on this.

The campus is beautiful, spacious, and offers good infrastructure with modern facilities.
The university provides good exposure to technical courses, eventrs , clubs, and extracurricular activities.
The campus has good labs, a library, and facilities that support students academic development.

The fees are high and losing a scholarship due to cgpa requirements can create a significant financial burden.
More personalized mentorship and regular career guidance sessions would help student prepare for their future carees.
more internship opportunities would further improve students professional growth.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the CSE curriculum covers relevant subjects and provides a good foundation programming and computer science. It prepares students for futher studies and careers, through more industry-based projects and practical learning would be bemigficial. Exams include MSTs and ESTs, with a manageable difficulty level through regi;ar preparation.

Chandigarh University the best university

Likes

college life of Chandigarh university is so good, all the events do happen .
teachers are so experienced and they are so supportive in here.
the placements in this university are great, all the big tech companies do visit while placements and provide jobs to the deserved students.

Dislikes

All the online courses should be reduced.
nothing is there in the university that is to dislike.
majority of the things are all good in our university.

Placement Experience:

The placemnets in the university starts from the 3 year only. companies comes in the 3rd year, students= can give interviews in this year, and they can get the NOC. wich means you can go for the job or the iinternship and there is no need to take the classes, because you are taking the indyustry level experience in the prior basis also.

Likes

campus life is absolutely banger and it is great to have friends here
crowd is bonkers , except some local peeps , they'd be behaving weird
major events like freshers and orientation , they bring crazzy artists

Dislikes

hectic schedules drain the soul of you .
frequent exams test that are totally unnecesary
attendance is another nuisance , having 75 percent is must

Placement Experience:

placements of 2.8 cr occured but it was only one , most of the placements packages go under 8 lpa and extra fees has to be paid in order to be eligible for placement drives and that too doen't ensure the placement

A TOUR TO CGC LANDRAN

Likes

Events are more frequent here and most of the stars from punjabi industry are called more often for film promotions
No ragging is there infact seniors are friendly and try to help juniors
TPP (training and placement program) is provided that help students to crack placements

Dislikes

Attendance criteria (minimum 75 % is essential to maintain to be eligible to give exams)
Class timings are fixed from 9:15 to 4:35 and you can not enter in between 10 to 12:00 PM as gates are closed for this duration
Strength is rapidly increasing as new courses are introduced which increases competition during placements

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement students need to enroll in TPP(Training and placement program) in order to get eligible for campus placement, Many companies visit our campus for eg Capgemini, LNT, ZSCALER, EDIFECS, AMAZON, PWC, WATCHGUARD TECHNOLOGIES etc overall above 200 offerrs are made to our senior batch with the highest package of 32LPA and average package of around 4.5LPA. more than 60% of students get placed . I am also sitting for campus placement and wish to get placed soon

College Life is Fun, Various activities and events happen in and around college, you got to know about others and crowd is also decent, Mostly Students are from northern regions that is Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand .
Teachers are good and placement coordinators also help students to get good package on campus. a decent package can be bagged by a student if he/she seriously study and obtain a decent CGPA in exam. Make sure you clear all exams till 8th semester.
Infrastructure Is also good, laboratories are fitted with new desktops and campus size is also decent, Tuck shops and various Canteens are available inside the campus. Also Central Library is there inside the campus where students can study in exam t

Dislikes

The curriculum for 1st and 2nd semester is purely based on subjects that you studied in 11th and 12th, the advance versions of those topics are there in 1st and 2nd semester which make it difficult for students to get good grades.
The placement in other branches like Mechanical, electrical is mere, and one can face difficult in getting on campus placement if he/she belongs to these streams. Also Lack of practical knowledge is there in these streams, Theory is more focused.
If one opt for hostels, then the hostel facilities are not as good as it should be , the mess food is pathetic and one can face difficulty if he/she opt for hostel, also campartively hostel fees are also very high, whereas nearby Pg's are cheaper

Placement Experience:

placement is good in our college. Aveage package is 400000, and average package for cse stream is approx 500000. Various companies like alstom, infosys, accenture, TCS, Wipro, amazon, Walmart, JP Morgan chase and co. etc visit campus every year and recruit students. Approx 300+ companies visit campus and above 80% of cse students are placed but In other streams like ECE.EE and ME etc placements are campartively lower and students face difficulty in order to get placed. MY plan is job oriented i also want to get placed on campus and hope so i will get placed in a good company.
