Decent college

IBS Mumbai is pretty decent college if you make use of it properly. A normal day at IBS comprise of total 6.15 hours of lectures, each lecture of 1.15 hours, sometimes it feels too hectic.

CAT with 81 %ile. The reason for opting IBS was their Case study methodology, emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation and problem-solving. They also collaborate with several national and international organizations to train its students in specialized areas in Information Technology.

The course curriculum is really up to date and is market orientated. Students are evaluated on the basis of tests, home assignments, case analysis, seminars, projects etc continuously throughout the duration of the program. Students can choose among 5 electives in the Final year i.e Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations and Information Technology. Students can also choose to do dual specialization.

IBS has designed a Summer Internship Program (SIP) for 14 weeks and integrated it into the curriculum. This approach was necessary as most of the students joining management program in India have no work experience and therefore a longer exposure to the corporate world through SIP would equip them to take on real-life business challenges. The Stipend provided varies from Nil to 25k per month.

Placements in IBS Mumbai are pretty decent especially for those in Finance and Marketing. Around 100 Companies visited this year and around 95% students are placed already. The package provided goes upto 16 lpa and International packages upto 22 lpa. The average package is around 6-6.5 lpa.

The co-curricular activities can be categorized as Club, Fests, and External Competitions. 'Konflux' the annual cultural event is an inter-institute event and is eagerly awaited by participants from other B-Schools. There are also various other events of each student clubs ranging from Dramatics, Music Fest, Sports events and many more.

IBS Mumbai offers PGPM and is a non- residential program. The entire Program fees is 7.26 lakhs and is easily paid in small installments throughout the program. The fees also includes all the study materials. If the Student wants to pursue higher education like Phd then they can pursue a MBA certificate from IBS Dehradun for an additional fee of Rs 50000.

Scholarship is provided to academically strong students. Regarding Education loans, IBS helps students in getting Education Loan from various Banks. During the Selection Process Round, there are various Bank Representatives available who helps us to secure a hassle-free education loan.

IBS Mumbai has 20 Student Clubs of various Domains. Each club initiates co-curricular activities as per the event calendar prepared at the beginning of the academic year. Almost every month there is some event in the college. The relation between the Seniors and the Freshers are pretty chilled.

IBS Mumbai does not provide any hostel facilities for students but the college management helps students in getting a decent accommodation in nearby college areas. Especially the Student Council takes extra care in this in personally helping each and every students. The expenses for one month can go upto 12-15k (including food). The cost seems a bit high compared to other IBS campuses because IBS Mumbai is in Powai, which is an expensive place.

One thing that IBS can proudly boast about is its ever growing Alumni network. There is an Alumni event every year where the current students gets to interact with their alumni's where they share their experiences and also help them move ahead in the corporate world. Also Alumni's act as mentor to the current students to help them with their problems.

IBS evaluates a student continuously throughout the program. As IBS follows 60-40 marking system, your 60 marks is your internal evaluation which is evaluated by faculty of that particular subject based on your projects, presentations, class test, class participation etc. and remaining 40 marks depends on your end semester examinations which is of 100 marks scaled down to 40. Case discussion is compulsory in each subject but it may or may not be a part of your evaluations as it depends on your faculty and their way of evaluation.

The admission process consisted of GD & PI, which was conducted at IBS Hyderabad. Then based on the Selection Process Percentile, the candidate is allotted the campus. The top 3 preferred IBS campuses are Hyderabad, Mumbai and Gurgaon. IBS gives 50% weightage to past academics from 10th to Graduation and 50% weightage to GD & PI performance.

Like every other Colleges, IBS has a decent Faculty, some very experienced in teaching field and some in industrial field, overall the faculty is good. Most of the faculties are very much into the subjects they teach. Each Faculty has some students to whom they act as an mentor.
