Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The best faculty is here and more supportive. some faculties are from NIT professors. all are best in their field of education. their teaching methods are best because they teach by interacting with all students. when we talk about exams, there is not too much thought paper is set if students attend regular classes and can get above 98% marks easily. here previous paper helps a lot for the coming exam for observing paper ideas. exam conducted timely.

Internships Opportunities

4

Recently, the college collaborated with Mahindra for internships and PPO for the best candidates. here most of the students got internships in ISRO, Mahindra etc. students after 2nd year are getting internships. here private and government companies provide internships.

Placement Experience

4

Here placement is good. here more than 110 companies visit every year. the main thing about placement is to focus on your skills as much as you can to get a decent package. here company visits are Amazon, Cognizant, HCL, Infosys, IBM, IBM etc. The good thing is that here every year placement rate is increasing. here 90% got placement some prefer for GATE, UPSC and another exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

This lies under the central government so the fee is not too much. even here fee is much less than any IIT/NIT courses. is students belongs to poor family they get scholarship based on their performance. here internship was provided by the college in 2nd year. placement of this college is growing every year.

Campus Life

4.5

Here annual fest is conducted every year MADHURAM and technical events are celebrated each year named TECHFEST there are approximately 23 clubs tech and non-tech included and all clubs are run effectively. there is a huge ground provided for sports facilities. here gym, music, dance, swimming and other facilities are available and run efficiently. social groups like NSS and other clubs are provided all clubs are run by students under professors of their field. They hep in the best way to learn and grow in their clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Here hostel facilities are almost good but some lags like iron and water heater are not allowed in their hostel room. room of the hostel is decent but not too much good. all students get a hostel in this college, registration is done by the hostel at the college itself. here hostel is full of greenery. the window view is just like wahoo!! the hostel is affordable here and mess charges are excluded which fee approx rupees 2800/- per month. everything is okay with the room. Campus is full of greenery so you are free from pollution.

Admission

Students should score a minimum of 75% in the board exam. here admission process is based on JOSAA/CSAB counselling by taking the JEE exam. there is no home state reservation but still have Obc/sc/st reservation. these reserved candidates get more benefits if their rank in the JEE exam is too much like approx 1 lakh rankers in OBC have a chance to get CSE in this college. the admission process is done by josaa/csab counselling so there is no issue during the admission process. this college is good and provides every facility like in IIT/NIT due to belongs to the central government. here students come from different states so there is environment is good. bihar/up students are more in this college.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
