Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very nice as we have the liberty to choose the courses we want to do and also to choose the faculty under whom we want the do the course. That's called FFCS. Faculty members are also very cooperative and they focus on reasearch based study for the overall development of one's mind. We had 3 exams per semester, comprising of 2 CATs (Continuous Assessment Test) namely CAT-I & CAT-II of 50 marks each, held with a gap of 1 month in between. After the completion of CAT-II, comes FAT (Final Assessment Test) of 100 marks which is the final test for the course. The faculty members are very well qualified and have a minimum of PhD degree with them.

Internships Opportunities

4

Various companies visit for Internships such as Microsoft, Deloitte, Reliance, TVS Motors, etc for various roles as per the compan's requirements. They focus on taking students having done a project earlier in their domain making it easier for them to complete the Internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements plays a very major part in a student's career. We become eligible for Internships from 5th Semester and 7th Semester for Placements. No of offers made till date (Dec-23) is a whopping of 5172*, which is very much decent. Highest CTC offered this year was 88 LPA and average package is around 7 LPA. Almost 100% of the students registered for Placements get on-campus Placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure is category wise for College Tuition Fees. It is of 5 categories namely Category -1, 2,3,4 & 5. No fees hike has been faced in my 4 yours. The only fees hike is in Hostel and Mess fees, and that is pretty much obvious. Talking about the Placements, VIT has emerged as a leader in terms of Placements. As it goes every year, VIT has emerged as a leader in providing Placements this year as well, despite of the ongoing recession. Where companies are not coming for placements in many colleges, VIT has a whopping figure of 5172 offers in just a few month, that's really huge!

Campus Life

5

Life is very good at campus. You'll enjoy and won't regret, I'm very sure! We have our Annual Technical Fest called GraVITas held in the month of September every year. Our Annual Cultural Fest happens mostly in the month of February, and is called Riviera, one of the best! Our Library is just awesome with a collection of more than 9000 books and easy accessibility. Classrooms are very good but not that good as compared to other top Notch Engineering Colleges. You can surely join clubs and chapters and be a part of different events conducted inside the Campus on a regular basis. There are more than 200 clubs and chapters.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility provided by them is quite good and the mess food is very decent. Menu is fixed for every month in the beginning of the month itself and we have an app called MessIT, where we can have an access to our daily menu. Registration for Hostel is online/offline (sometimes) based on our CGPA i.e. a student having higher CGPA has much more preference and he can select his friends as his roommates. I personally would suggest to be inside the Hostel Premises and not opt for PG as you'll have certain issues there.

Admission

We had to apply for VITEEE exam, the Official Admission Test of VIT. We applied for this exam, and had to give our Examination from the Centre as preferred by you and finally provided by VIT. The test comprised of Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Aptitude Questions. The time was around 2 hrs (as far as I remember). Overall experience of my Exam was quite good and I was satisfied with the code of conduct of the examination. After clearing the exam, we were allotted our ranks, and as per our preference of Branch, we had been allotted with our Branches.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)

VIT being a much better college in terms of Placement and as I got a seat there, I didn't opt for SRM

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.
