Remarks

VIT and its management all in all very good and handling students and delivering what is needed by the students. I would not easily miss home for having such diversity to be in and a busy schedule of college to follow. Indiscipline is viewed strictly in VIT, which is in well being for the students only. Finally, VIT is a place to learn and a chance to grow.

Entrance Preview

VITEEE is a Computer Based Common Entrance Exam. Eligible candidates can select the courses offered at VIT Vellore Campus, Chennai Campus, VIT-Bhopal, and VIT-AP on the day of Counselling as per the order of merit and availability. The Ranking of VITEEE is based on relative marking. No Negative Marking is there in the VITEEE exam. I got 17578 ranks in VITEEE and took Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in Information Security VIT is the top private university in India according to various agencies and NIRF ranking and offers a vast opportunity to its students, hence making me opt for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is on par with most colleges in India. VIT chooses its course for students to match international standards. Each course is discussed in its detail and usually comes with a project component that enables applied learning among students. Project and Hi-tech Labs help in gaining maximum knowledge with respect to the course. VIT Gives a lot of weightage for research purposes. Hence making it the best for students interested in the same

Internships Opportunities

Yes, From the second year onwards Internships are provided by the college. And from time to time International internship offers are also sent via mail. The internship opportunity is provided by NGOs and Private firms. The stipend varies from company to company and there are also internships that don't pay any stipend.

Placement Experience

4

The placements in the college are very good for computer science and IT students, and you will get too many job placements opportunity. It also depends on you and your talent. You will be placed if you maintain an average CGPA. No doubt with the placements, every year we break our records in placements. The highest salary offered to the students this year was nearly 30 LPA by super dream companies. The average package offered is around 5 LPA to 6 LPA for CSE. The least package depends on the company. All popular companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, etc. visit the campus for placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is nominal as compared to any other private college but may get heavy on your pocket if you don't have a good rank in the entrance exam and want to study in VIT.

Fees and Financial Aid

The First 1000 students of VITEEE are awarded scholarships and each semester batch toppers are also facilitated with prize money. There is a scholarship for students from the weaker financial background. The scholarship is only given on tuition fees. Toppers of each State Board and Central Board 100% Tuition fee waiver for all four years. VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 50 75% Tuition fee waiver for all four years. VITEEE rank holders of 51 to 100 50% Tuition fee waiver for all four years. VITEEE rank holders of 101 to 1000 25% Tuition fee waiver for all four years.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

For first years there are three types of accommodations, 2 Bed AC and Non-AC, 3 Bed AC and Non-AC, 6 Bed AC and Non-AC. 3 Bed and 6 Bed are the most spacious ones for Fresher blocks. From the 2nd Year onwards, rooms are allocated based on merit scored in the semester. Mess food is better than average and offers 5 types of messes. North Indian Veg/Non-veg South Indian Veg/Non-veg Special Mess (Serves all) Hence the food and everything is at par as compared to most of the colleges in India.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students and Alumni are very helpful. Firstly there is no such great culture of senior and junior as for FFCS (Fully Flexible Credit System) you choose your own course to study, so you may be sharing a seat with a senior only. Besides the classrooms, they are very helpful and encouraging. I Believe VIT has the best Junior-Senior Student culture.

Admission

VITEEE ranks are used to select Eligible candidates, who can select the courses offered on the day of Counselling as per the order of merit and availability. Once you are selected, you'll get regular updates for the admission process. You'll be called on a particular date as per your VITEEE rank, The course selection process goes on simultaneously in various cities and the seats available are shown over the screen on a real-time basis. There are 5 categories in which a person can take admission based on his rank. The fees per category keep on increasing. The courses are divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. Base Fees for each group can be seen here < http://www.vit.ac.in/admissions/ug/feeStructure > At the counselling centre, the administration is very nice and cooperative. They will help you with any doubt and procedure.

Faculty

4.5

All faculties are well versed in what they are teaching and take a keen interest in teaching. Advanced ways of teaching in class using Smart Boards, it becomes interactive for faculty as well as students to teach and study respectively. All the faculties are Ph.D. holders and are regularly writing some of the other research papers. Most of the Faculty also hold Ph.D. from colleges and universities abroad.
