The students: The students around you are highly talented and also helpful also fun to be around
The culture: The culture is very rich and diverse
Flexibility: The college rules are not that strict for the time being.

Faculty:Not all the faculties are good and there are some who don't put any efforts
The infrastructure: The buildings are not very good and also labs don't have all the equipments that work properly
The management: The management system is a bit okaish

Course Curriculum Overview

This is the best course I could have gotten by my rank also this is the best course the university has to offer placement wise. Since there are a lot of subjects that are being taught in this university so telling about the student to faculty ratio is hard but good enough to cater engineering students for sure. Most of the teachers are well qualified and teach well. And also in most of the subject you get their hand made PDFs to study from if incase you missed the class but attending class is advisable. The term exams are conducted in each six months approx and are easy to moderate at Max if you follow all the class properly.

Goldman Sachs, Oracle, PWC, Texas Instruments, Amazon visits campus.Students are offered various roles, including positions in engineering, software development, marketing, and finance. There are students who got offer around 90k to 1lakh as an intern.

Placement Experience

Students are allowed to get internship from 5th semester and generally the placement starts from 6 th semester end . The top recruiters of Jadavpur University in placements 2023 were Google, Microsoft, Texas Industries, Samsung, etc. Apart from this, according to Jadavpur University Engineering NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during Jadavpur University BTech and MTech placements 2022 stood at INR 10 LPA and INR 9.10 LPA. Jadavpur University Placements 2023 is concluded with 1200 offers. More than 1000 students were placed. Jadavpur University highest package stood at INR 85 LPA. 35 offers ranged between INR 45 LPA & INR 80 LPA whereas 100+ offers ranged between INR 35 LPA & INR 45 LPA. Some of the top recruiters of Jadavpur University Placements 2023 included Schrodinger, Google, Microsoft, DE Shaw India, Citi Bank, HSBC etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees of all the branches of engineering with the exception of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is very minimal.The 4 year course fee is around 10k to 12k . But the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY course fee is very high as compared to other.It is around 19k per semester and we have 8 semesters.

Campus Life

There is an annual fest named SANSKRITI in Jadavpur University that happens every year around April .And also there is a tech fest named SRIJAN that happens every year in summer.There is UTURN that is an sports event.And also there many fests that are being conducted by ARTS, SCIENCE department separately

Admission

To get admission in Jadavpur University one need to appear in wbjee exam. If qualified the exam then he/ she needs to apply in the councelling process conducted by wbjee board .For any info regarding application form and fees and dates check the official website . For Jadavpur University the eligibility criteria is- General: The candidates MUST have been allotted a seat of Jadavpur University through counselling of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) and MUST have paid the requisite seat acceptance fees to WBJEEB. For sc/st and other reservation there is no fees compensation as the course fees of all the branch is very minimal 10k to 12k in total except the branch INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.For further information checkout their website.

Interview Experience

Yes.You have to qualify wbjee in order to get admission in Jadavpur University. The subjects are physics chemistry and mathematics. Mathematics 100 marks and physics and chemistry each has 50 marks paper. Exam happens in one day first paper is mathematics after that 1 hour break and then paper 2 physics and chemistry together. To prepare for this exam you have to master the 11 th and 12th grade pcm properly and questions are as per with JEE MAINS AND ADVANCED.

Likes

The IIT brand value.Great placements and internship opportunities
Competitive peers and lots of ongoing.Great environment
Lush green campus, lots to explore and great infrastructure

Dislikes

Rigorous academics, hectic exam schedules
Hostel infrastructure is quite old and mess food quality is just acceptable.
Professors teaching style can be quite boring as well

Placement Experience:

Placement statistics of IIT Kharagpur is excellent with multiple offers made across software, quant, consulting , analytics and core domain.Major companies like Google, Microsoft, Optiver, Visa,Mastercard visit the campus each year for recruitment.Highest packages are offered by quant companies and can go upto 2 - 2.5 crore per annum

Good Internship Opportunities

Helpful Faculties, the faculties over here helped us through out the course
Good clean and green campus with water supply at different places in the campus
Structured syllabus for industrial readiness in the curriculum

Dislikes

Nothing such I have disliked, but some classrooms projector did not functioned properly
Some time the guards unnecessarily behaved rude which I hated the most

Placement Experience:

The placement cell provides us with training programs and internships and also if the students are careful and disciplined in the classroms they can crack through job interviews. There is mock viva at the end semester and also some on campus hiring companies came in our college.

BCREC a underrated college

Likes

In my batch there are 64 student and there is only 17 girls.so the girl boy ratio is good.
This college has the largest campus of all the college in the West Bengal so college campus is really good
As I am a student of information technology so they are teaching me the course subject and also soft skill subjects that can help me in my placement journey

Dislikes

The college is located in rural area which is the bad thing
The course curriculum is not at the level of IIT NITs as we are studying some subjects which are introduced in the late semester which IIT and it and study in their second or third semester
The third thing I don't like is that the Student of the college discriminate among each other like the local residents who are bengali's day prefered their friend as Bengali

Placement Experience:

The college average placement are 6 lakh per annum and in my branch out of 64 student only 30 God placement but the mistake is of the students because many companies are visiting our colleges but they couldn't find the talent required for the skilled person they required

The college provides a moderately good infrastructure so it is more or less good. However some lab equipments have gotten old so upgrading those would be appreciated.
The teachers and students are very friendly so interacting is very easy. Teachers are mostly experienced and quite knowledgeable in their field of expertise. However the college follows the curriculum suggested by makaut which feels outdated.

Dislikes

The college doesn't give any options to play anything in college in their free time so that's an issue in my opinion. Also college isn't keen on giving NOCs for internships. Also they don't tend to provide funding to projects developed by students.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

The average package is 450000 and highest package every year goes upto 9-12 lakhs per annum. I want to go into core Electronics domain for which I am preparing for masters as no core electronics companies come in this college

GOOD College at low fees.

Likes

The campus is very big of the college which is about 50 acres and very greenly campus
The events and clubs with sports held in campus is very good and very happening
The placement opportunities in this college is very good and the faculties are very supportive

Dislikes

The infrastructure is bit old and renovates it bit very late which impact in bit difficulty
The senior are very supportive but at the same time they are very strict regarding the discipline which they call it ragging
The location of the college is bit outside of the main city so you can find it bit difficulty in your starting days of living here

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

use of projector is very helpful for us .
faculties behaviour is good ,they are quite helpful toward us.

small area campus is that what I do not like
canteen facilities are not good enough .
small space library are not enough for all students

after 6th sem those students who scored above 7 CGPA are eligible for campus placements. name of companies- TCS,Campgemini,Accenture,Delloite etc. average package -320000 70 percent most of students got placed. I want to job at IT sector after getting the degree.

Fair college according to me

Likes

The college management is really up to the mark. I am from the computer science and engineering department.
Good placements according to the amount you pay.
Good environment for coding and development.

Dislikes

There are a lot of extra clubs which are not so functional.
Hostels are good but not up to the mark .
The play ground is available but not inside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Our college provide really good placements if the student is really eligible for employment. There are adequate no. Of companies visiting the campus. Some big companies are - MICROSOFT, LAB VANTAGE, DELTAX, RTCAMP, DELOITTE, ACCENTURE, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, IBM, MUSIGMA, TIGER ANALYTICS, KEY SIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, KEYENCE, MANIKARAN POWER, TCS, E&Y etc. The highest package is around 20 lpa and the avarage is around 5 - 6 lpa. Placements are better for cse, it and ece. The core branches have mediocre placements.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

You can focus on gate, or any other job teachers are helpful no issue of attendance.
easily pass as syllabus is not hard,and get a B.tech degree.

Dislikes

poor infracture, lack of resources such as sports facility.
Less qualified teachers with no PHDs, and familiar with basic knowledge.
No placements, whatever you can do is off campus only

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
