Course Curriculum Overview

4

I selected Ba Geography honours because I am interested in this particular subject and also I got full marks in CUET as well as in Board. Student and faculty ratio is preety much good here. We have alloted a teacher on 10 students for a mentoship. Almost teacher of my department have studied in this college (Graduation) and further studies from either foreign or Indian University (like- JNU). The teaching method of every teacher is very interactive with students but some ppt-reader teachers also present here. Generally, here exams are divided into 2 semester in one year. The exams are not too tough if you study carefully. Many times, direct questions are asked in exams. Also provide options for attempting questions in exams.

Placement Experience

4

There is no placements in my course but obviously placement took place in bcom and bsc courses but I have not a Idea about them. Yess, I want to tell you that there is Placement cell in College which provide placements to some specific courses students.

Fees and Financial Aid

If we compare the fees hikes of Delhi University to other central universities then we find that DU is much more expensive. But there is also present some scholarship and schemes to financially weak students. Like- Financial Support Scheme(FSS) is run here to support needies. Recently, I am a 2nd year student so I have not a Idea about the job and stipend of campus.

Campus Life

3.5

Renaissance is the name of college cultural fest. There are also many fests of various societies of college. Like- NSS fest, NCC fest, Musoc fest, Sensation fest and others. The Library of college comprises particular sections for each courses. Every section contains several books of different authors. Library also provides various magazines, newspapers including The Hindi, Indian express, etc. The classrooms of my department are well furnished and organised. Provides facility of air conditioners which are so helpful in summers. Projectors also present in my classrooms. There is also organised timely sport competitions like inte-departmental tournaments of Cricket, Foot ball, Volley ball, basketball, badminton and others. There is also present seperate Common room for boys and girls which promotes indoor games. There are several societies which are run by students for students. Like- Kartavya(civil service society) Musoc(music society) NSS NCC Sensation (dance society) Players

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are double or triple seater rooms in hostel. Each room provides table, bed, fan, tubelight, almirah, chair to each student. The meal of my hostel is Lajwaab. We have 4 days out of week paneer for veg and chicken for non-veg as a dinner. But the dishes are different. Luch and breakfast also too tasty and healthy. But I don't like rotis of mess members, they left them raw at corners. The registration process is too easy for hostel. First of all, you will buy application form from hostel administration office then you filled it and attached required documents. The price of application form is 250 rupees.

Admission

Eligibility: 3 domain (like- geography, political, history) and 1 language There is a entrance exam which is Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Applications find at cuetsamarth.ac.in. The application fees depends on how many paper you opted. My application application fees was around 1200-1400. Yeah, there is reservation benefits in Delhi University. For improvement, I want to say that, there were some technical glitches at my time so pay heed on this issue and also require improvement in management processes.

Other Applied Colleges

Hindu College | Ba honours Political science

Because I have keen interest in Geography

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
