Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I have a keen interest on mechanics and automobile industries. I find it facinating to learn about the working and manufacturing of mechanical components. The faculties that have taught me are very qualified and are experienced to teach students and simplify the most complex topics. Majority pf the faculties use ppts to present each topic. In each class on an average there are 40 students which is a perfect number. For a student to complete a semester 1 final exam and 2 periodic tests has to be completed and passed. The exams are not difficult as each exams are limited to very little portions and the exams are conducted with a sufficient gap.
Internships Opportunities
VIT provides seed funding to students who aspire to start their own companies through VITTBI. Startup companies like these provide internship roles to students who'd like to experience the workculture. As far as stipends some companies offer stipends but some don't.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the fourth year. VIT claims itself as one of the best because of their placements provided to students. For mechanical many companies like mercedes, bosch, nissan-renault etc offer CTCs. The last i heard the highest package offered was for around 1cr.After getting the degree I plan on studying further and specialising on ic engines.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of every student is completely dependent on the rank earned during the VITEEE and on a general note the affordability of education fees is a bit high but the opportunities offered by the college does help in grasping the idea of paying a hefty sum. I have not enrolled in any scholarship but I know that the college does offer financial assistance and scholarships.
Campus Life
VIT has two major fests that are conducted they are Rivera and gravitas. Riviera is conducted in the month of February which is a 4 day fes where many functions and programs are conducted. Gravitas is a tech evert where technicals clubs showcase their stalls and tech events are conducted. The classrooms are well ventilated and are equipped with projectors and biometric reading machines for atteendence. There are many clubs and chapters and each club has their own events which are conducted.
Hostel Facilities
Students get alloted to their respective rooms wrt to their cgpa obtained. After every academic year students get to choose their rooms and roomates . There are many blocks for men hostel among them the best blocks are r blocka nd q block. The food does taste well and the caterers follow proper hygiene. The price for hostels are high. Students do stay in PGs outside the campus and as far as what i have heard the living cost is the same as living in a hostel.
Admission
For getting an admission at VIT every student must have completed their hugh school graduation with an aggregate of 60 percentage.Once this criteria is fulfilled he/she has to attend an admission exam called VITEEE. Initially after the announcement of the dates of application by the management every aspirant should register with a fees and appear for the exams.Once the results are announced each student is allotted college branch according to their ranks and are allowed to select their choice of branch.
