Likes

College life and senior junior interaction.
The various fests and the night life is enchanting.
The weather and the location of goa is best.

Dislikes

The hectic schedule of classes is disturbing at times.
Sometimes there are clashes of seminars with the class timings.
Sometimes there is an attendance component attached to the courses even after the 0 attendance policy.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum for the first year is pretty hectic and classes generally stretch till 8 in the evening. This is due to multiple reasons, primarily the clash of faculty timings or unavailability of labs. The faculty members are pretty well qualified and the teaching methods are very good. The long class hours are actually pretty fun. Also there is a 0 attendance policy so you can choose not to go to class and still not be punished for the same.

Placement Experience

The campus placement of my college is great. The complanies that recruit from my college are from tech, core and finance. My college is a Tier 1 college so the placements are also in the upper strata. The overall avg package of campus is around 15 lakhs and avg package of CS department reaches 30 lakhs. 90% of the batch gets placed and the rest of the students either go for higher studies or start their own startup.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is slightly on the expensive side but there are many features and scholarships to assist the students. If your parents' income is less than 15 lakhs PA, you are eligible for Merit Cum Need Scholarship and all meritorious students on campus are eligible for the Merit Scholarship.

Campus Life

The campus life of BITS Goa is one of the best in the country. The night life of the campus is always bustling. There are events, seminars and other combinations happening left right and centre. You will be so much overwhelmed at times that you will forget all your worries. The college life is the best. The library is well equipped. The classrooms are well equipped. There are sports team for all games except swimming. There are many clubs and departments.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is pretty well equipped with all the basic needs and amenities. 2 people share a room and the room comes with everything in a pack of two. The bathrooms are also well equipped. There are 3 messes and you can choose any one of those. The food in all the messes is great. The hostels are inside campus itself. The hostel is quite affordable.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

My admission to BITS Goa Chemical engineering was through the BITSAT exam. The competition was tough and the cutoffs greatly increased this year. I got Chemical engineering branch at 220 score. The rest of the admission process was smooth and I faced no other problems.

Reasons to not Join this College: By a ex-student

Likes

The surroundings is quite mesmerizing...

Dislikes

The faculties are rude and extremely toxic.
The faculties don't have clear understandings of the syllabus.. the lack of alignment with prescribed syllabus leads to high failure rate with nearly 60% of students failing in each semester
Quite often the semester examination papers include topics that were not covered by the teachers in class. in My class 23/75 students got block(year back). Which must be highest rate of failures across entire India

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is the same across all the 5 colleges It's too outdated to be studied Not relevant for modern-day job markets Students often have to study different materials to crack a job. Youtibe is best solution to clear the concepts

zero % attendance policy and freindly seniors and no ragging and vibrant culture

Dislikes

less campus area and sports timings are limited

Placement Experience:

Placements are good like averages of chemical is 12 lpa and there is good placement percentage ratio like 75 percent and if in case of no placements further study is possible option as bits have connection to many best institues in the world.

The only thing that I like about the college is the environment the college is built in nothing else

Everything from the infrastructure to the campus to the faculty to basic facilities everything

The course same to be around 50 years old and which is not updated we as students studying bachelors in engineering need new updates in our courses every year so that we know what is new in the market

Likes

First of all it was government college..
The college has a huge campus and a good infrastructure
College background is also good enoughh.

Dislikes

Surroundings area is not clean enough and not maintained
It is a long distance to cover everyday.
Don't have a proper ground to play around

Course Curriculum Overview:

I myself wanted to bebin this course as it has bright scope. It is very attractive in real world. the area needed to be cleaned and well maintained and hygiened as well. And the class timing are not good enough . They keep classes as they want.

Likes

The campus is good, lots of air and good weather. Good facilities, decent food spots around and faculties are also good mostly. Masters courses are available in some departments.

Dislikes

There are cows roaming around as well as dogs so there is a lot of rubbish on the roads. The college is situated on a hill so getting there is a challenge for bus travellers, Canteen is horrible, so is the workshop. Security is non existent.
Anyone can come during college hours and even kill you and nobody will do anything.

Placement Experience:

I have no clue but the highest placements are in Computer and IT branches. Civil has probably the least placement. The quality is good thanks to IIT and NIT being in the same campus thus the big companies that come to those colleges also come to our colleges but they prefer those students more because NIT and IIT are more prestigious colleges.

The campus is new and in hostel one room for one person and the room is really good , we have everything which you need in a room enough lights fan a good cupboard
70 percent of the campus (other than boys hostel) looks nice ..they have greenery , a smol park like area in front of girls hostel and and good classrooms , professors are okaish

Dislikes

Many times hostel water tank gets empty ..so no water not even for drinking for hours and electricity went sometimes not much and one big problem is the internet inside the hostel , outside our hostel network comes but inside no signal
They have a wifi which don't work well and not much range of it ,it's a big problem we face everyday . The food is not good , below then avarage it got degraded since we came to new campus . It's been a year in this new campus
Only one basket ball and vollyball court for sports , no ground ,nothing . There is one ground in front of boys hostel where no grass only needle like rocks if you fall your bone will be cracked and , recently they started to let sevagewater out init

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is okay okay but not that great . Mech and civil don't have that much package avg of around 6 lakh and i guess only 10-11 got placed .. and 16-17 was eligibile for it. For eligible to placement you don't have any backlog in any subject and some minimum cgpa required too

An Overview Bits-Goa

Likes

Chill college with a very beautiful campus and the junior senior interaction is also good here.
Campus life is filled with fun and academics , its a blend of both in perfect proportions
Infrastructure here is so good and massive

Dislikes

There is no swimming pool also its raining always
There is no mcn for bits rmit students..

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Top companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft visit our campus. Im not aware of the no of offers made but the number is pretty high. Avg Package for CSE is around 25LPA, almost 81% placed this year. My plan is to start a start up after getting my degree

Remarks:

I won't say as positive or negative but overall it's average in terms of everything campus facilities and every event that has been organised in our college. Also for faculties they are average in teaching.

BITS Pilani, Goa Campus- A road to an interesting life.

I applied to IITs, NITs, GFTIs and VIT apart from BITS. I got confirmed admission into VIT while the process for other colleges was ongoing. I withdrew from the process of other as soon as I got into BITS. I also withdrew my application from VIT. I chose this college over other colleges is because BITS is known for its excellence and great alumni network . It also has one of the most successful statistics of placements over other private colleges. The admission to BITS is done through BITSAT. It takes place every year along with Jee Mains and Jee Advance . The cutoffs vary every year for the courses and can be easily found on Google. This exam is of high eminence and is held high in place along with the JEE exams. Bits goa brief review

I left RVCE banglore cse for bits goa msc Economics because I wanted to have an hostel Life and bits has 0 attendance policy which was a plus I could still get cse here with dual allotment so I left RVCE .Bits goa had better placements better infrastructure, faculties etc The admission is 100 percent merit based with no reservation and mostly through the bitsat ecamination and through thesat for international students...Read More
