All about VIT Vellore

The course curriculum is good for CSE especially, as we have exposure to many fomputer languages, AI ML and a lot more that theoritical learning. Being a college, the professors are qualified but the study part you need to do it yourself. There are some subjects like Digital System Designs, Microprocessors, which is not very much required considering our course of CSae but they are there as compulsory courses. Coming to exams, VIT has more exams compared to other colleges. Every month there are either CAT or FAT going on in our college.

There are internship opportunities, we get a lot of mails for applying for internships. Not specifically big companies tie up with the college for this but we can apply externally for them. The faculies help for different projects and even research papers.

The tuition fee here is based on category system starting from category 1 to category 5. Student getting category 1 has a fee of 2 lakh per year, category 2 has 3 lakh per year, category 3 as 4 lakh and so on. The complete average cost here to complete the college is 18-20 lakhs. You also get a scholarship in VITEEE exam if you secure a rank of under 1000.

The infrastructure is very good in the campus. There are like 18 hostel blocks, 12 men and 6 girls hostels. The campus is huge, we have many different accademic buildings. We also have a huge library with 4 flors and a lot of books like you can find everything there. VIt does decent in sporting, they have all the sports with fields and everything but the good infrastructure is paid like the indoor badminton court, swimming pool and gyms are paid. There are hundreds of clubs and chapters. Rivera is the biggest cultural fest of south india and our tech fest is Gravitas which is also very good.

The hostel rooms are decent, 2 bedded rooms are not that big. We have both AC and non AC hostels. We have to live in hostels only, renting a room or PG is not allowed. The mess food is quite good compared to other colleges but for North Indians you have to suffer somewhat regarding food.

There is a separate exam VITEEE for admission in VIT. You can easily apply for it online on VIt website. The exam is of moderate level, not very difficult like JEE advance or even mains. The syllabus for the exam is more or less the same for 11th and 12th comprising of all three sectiona Maths, Physics and Chemistry. There is one attempt only for the VITEEE exam. There are no reservation benefits. There is a category system like category 1,2,3,4 and 5 based on your rank. The categories have different fees like category 1 have 2 lakh per year follwed by category 2 as 3 lakh and so on.
