- Campus and Infrastructure of the college is beyond expectations.
- Hostels are very well equipped with a high speed wifi and Hostel rooms are very well maintained.

- Quality and taste of the mess food is below average.
- There are a lot of snakes present in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview
NITK curriculum is very much rigorous. But the curriculum prepares for student for the real life situations. After 4 years the student will become very knowledgeable and independent. Student can stand on their own legs after finishing the graduation in NITK. For a Semester, Exams are conducted 4 times in a semester. Two quizzes, Mid sem and End sem.
Placement Experience
From 7th semester the students are eligible for campus placements. There are a lot of companies both from core and circutal visit to the campus and offers the placements to the eligible students . Some companies visited to the campus are Amazon , Cognizant , Accenture, L&T etc. Percentage of students getting placed is very good . Mainly In branches like CSE , IT , ECE the percentage is above 92 . Whereas in Branches like Mechanical, Civil , Mining the percentage is between 85-95 . My plans after getting a degree is to apply for a good placement and get the job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Tution fee of the institution is fixed and there are no hikes in the tution fee. Sometimes there may be a variation in the hostel fee and mess fee depending on the duration of the semester. There are lot of scholarship opportunities for students.There are a good amount of job opportunities for students, NITK is one of the best NIT in producing jobs for the students.
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs both Technical and Cultural. Students can join in any one of the club and showcase their special talents. There are 2 well equipped Libraries in the campus which are sufficient for all the needs of students. There are lot of labs research centres for students . A very big importance is given for the sports in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
For First year students the hostels are shared by 3 people. Whereas from second year a single shared rooms are allotted for students. Hostels are spacious and well equipped with high speed wifi. Quality of mess food is not that great . Students from different states has to adjust for the food in the mess. Registration process for the hostel and mess will takes place in the app and this process is very easy and student friendly.
Admission
Admission into NIT Surathkal is through the JEE Entrance test .Any Student who passed class 12th with above 75 % and cleared JEE mains are eligible for the admission into NITs. Application form can be found in the official website of NTA . Students with disabilities and students who belongs to SC/ST categories have some amount of reservation policies. JEE Mains are conducted every year in two attempts. JEE Mains question papers are not much difficult for those students who are through with concepts of Class 11th and 12th. Some Exam Conducting centres are not well equipped with Computer and furniture.
