Remarks

Its been a long time since they are innovating the college but not completed yet

Entrance Preview

One of the few colleges which is located in chennai. During my counseling i had very few colleges to choose which was in my list. This is the one of the college which was there and also it had my course which i wanted to select. So i opted out for this college

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Since it comes under the anna university they follow the same syllabus around the Tamilnadu. I pursued electrical and electronics engineering so mostly course in mostly on core subjects. Regarding electives, we were not given opportunity to choose. It was chosen according to the availability of staff

Internships Opportunities

I dont think they have interships. Some of the post graduate students have been in working in labs as a assistant

Placement Experience

0.5

In my year there had only two on campus interview that too are bpo / Support so the package is not good enough. They also did not select much students. Our college management was not ready to bring companies for the interview this is the one of the negative point of the college

College Events

1

Meenakshi college of engineering does not celebrate any events. They had celebrated annual day only one during my tenure that too did not end as expected. Prize distribution was also cancelled. symposium has also happened in other departments but not in my department

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since meenakshi college of engineering comes under anna university they had to follow the same fee structure figured by government. My college is not NDA accredited so the fees should be 32500 excluding the bus. But they had collected 45000 the additional 12500 termed as other fees. Not sure why it has been collected

Fees and Financial Aid

Some of first graduates and merit students have availed scholarships but most of the students dont know about it

Campus Life

3

Since it is inside chennai and also bus transportation is also available. Most of the nearby people have joined considering the travel distance. Campus does not have much peace no bike parking no play ground. They don't encourage much of sports other than basket ball

Hostel Facilities

1

I am a day scholar so i have not spent any time in hostel and never tasted hostel food. But some of my friends who have availed hostel has said like there have been 3 or 4 sharing rooms. Food is also normal not so good or bad either. Most of my friends shifted to room in later days

Alumni/Alumna

They dont have any network for alumni if they need any help from us they will call any individual from a call and will connect with others

Exam Structure

Each semester had six subjects and two or three lab exams. We had to compete for 100 marks. The marks we have scored will be converted to out of 80 marks and 20 marks will be given as a internal marks for our attendance and assignments. There also been a regular exams

Admission

After i completed my 12th exam, i bought anna university form which is mandatory for going into the engineering college. Then after the result come we have got our ranks depending on my marks. Then i had to go for counselling on the invited date depends on mark. Then i chose the college

Faculty

3

I am not sure about the other department staffs/faculty but in our department staffs are talented enough for the syllabus of anna university since there have not been much change in syllabus they are good enough as they were teaching the same for long years

The curriculum is relevant and provides a good balance of theoretical knowledge and practical learning. It prepares students for real-world applications, but more industry projects, practical sessions, and updated teaching methods would help. Exams are generally well-spaced and moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.
