Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I was very interested towards computers especially the growing market of crypto and Blockchain... The course here is pretty detailed with some practical applications that helps us prepare for the future market. The teaching methods are nice . The faculty involvement may be improved. We have 2 internal assessments almost every 35 days. One is a normal exam and the other is an open book exam. The exams are easy if prepared well but even at worst they are clearable
Internships Opportunities
Google women's summer internship-24' Research internship at the incubation centre for startups at VIT Immersion programmes for Avionics and AI/ML at Finland and Poland All of these are unpaid internship eligible for credits completion in campus. There are a lot more opportunities here too which am yet to discover.
Placement Experience
We are eligible for placements after our 7th semester. Campus placements are good with average of 4LPA. Top companies like Microsoft, IBM, Wipro, Deloitte, Amazon, etc visit the campus for talents. They make around atleast 200 offers for dream companies. Highest package this time was 65LPA at Amazon. Average was 3.5LPA. There was again a 100 percentage placement record After degree I intend on doing Masters abroad or work at a job and then save up to do Masters on my own
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees varies on category on which we got into the college. The tuition fee roughly is around 4.5L INR and there is not much fluctuation in the fees. The overall cost for my 4 years is around 25-28L to complete the course. There are certain financial aids to help if parents income is below a certain level . There's also the category 1 students who have much lesser tution fees . There are various clubs and chapters in campus that we can take up for engaging in various activities and social responsibilities. I have taken up programming at IEEE and also Speaking in Toastmasters Nuvens.
Campus Life
There are several annual events like the coding festival Yantra, the techfest Gravitas and the cultural fest Riviera. Yantra is held in March or April. Riviera is usually in March 1st week. Gravitas during September or October. The library here is one of the most organised and biggest. All books are neatly labelled and the issuing process is very simple with id systems in place. There are tons of books with various authors for reference. Each classroom has a great projector for smart learning. The range of sports activities is huge in campus . There is Football, Basketball, Badminton courts, tennis court, Volleyball courts, swimming pool, paid gymnasiums , tt rooms and so on.. The clubs and chapters here are of crucial essence to develop various skills apart from classes. It also boosts morale and social connections with more like minded people and the seniors with experience too.
Hostel Facilities
The room amenities are good with both AC and non AC options . Each room has cupboards and cloth hanging facilities with great beds. The mess food is very good with a good spread . The taste and quality is also extremely impressive. Any student can register for the hostels with the confirmation through Affidavits. The fees is affordable with mess charges included upto a total of 2Lakhs for AC room . There are 3 types of mess - Veg, Non veg and special. The special mess is what am registered in. There are very limited PG options available outside and mostly is not permitted by the university.
Admission
I took the admission through the VITEEE exam conducted usually during March and got into category 4 of admission to VIT Vellore. Only eligibility needed was to clear the 12th boards with a decent mark.. The VITEEE exam was easy with no negative markings. I didn't like the multiple level category system as it was a very long process..
