Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I'm pursuing BA English Honours , it's a very good subject , and it'll open up so many more options in job and job exams in future which other subjects cannot or lesser than that , so that's the number 1 point of pursuing this. Because we as students these days firstly think what we gonna do after studying to earn so it is important to see all the future possibilities. The curriculum prepares us really really well for real world applications and further academic pursuits as it's a real world subject and we get to know so many things everyday. This year the syllabus of English has drastically changed , we have got so many more topics and it is being quite challenging for us cause we aren't even getting help from our seniors with notes or anything , even the teachers are also confused with so many things with our batch. We haven't give our final exam yet so haven't tasted Calcutta University's difficulty level as people say .

Internships Opportunities

3

The NAAC in our college is very good , it's NAAC accredited with ‘A’. Moreover it is DBT Star College with Star Status, Has Green Campus, Regular & Careful Sanitization of the Campus, Cloud-based System- Online Teaching & Learning, G-suite for Education- Online Teaching & Learning. The social working group of our college is really good , it offers good internships , that too in China , Manali etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure varies subject to subject , in my subject it's lesser than many other subject as it doesn't have any practicals or anything but still it's average. Tuition fees gets high these days so much , in my case I myself have to pay 1800 a month. I agree Tuitions help so much but the fees shouldn't be this high. The Tuition fees is 600 to 3.5 L through the whole course. Moreover these days government gives students so many new scholarships , like Vivekananda scholarship , Kanyashree Prakalpa , so these helps students so much.

Campus Life

2.5

My college doesn't often held fests , but ya it celebrates occasions so beautifully like Saraswati Pujo , Holi , Ramadan , Eid , Iftaar party etc. So in a way it's fun. They organize these festivals with so much of purity and joy. The library averagely has good collection and accessibility on books and they has a good ognization of card systems and days divided for students. The facilities and technological provisions are good within the classroom like protector and everything. Moreover we have so many extracurricular activities offered in campus like football, cricket, carrom, etc. The Student Union of our college is really good and helpful.

Admission

The admission process wasn't that bad or critical , it was easy. The fees for the admission was also lesser than any other universities. As I'm pursuing BA in English honours , it's a very good course and opens up many opportunities for jobs and job exams in future. Anyone can find the application form from the website of the university , the application dates for ug or pg are mostly on the starting of a new session. Reservation candidates get better opportunities and facilities as I'm not one of them I can't tell much about that. We've 2 semester exams , for we must have to study the whole year but the problem is it is said that the semester should have 6 months gap but we aren't getting it and cu made questions are always in a level not easy though. Please give a little more time for physical verification dates in the admission process. Lastly , the university gives notices so late , held exams late and later we students have to suffer .

Course Curriculum Overview:

My passion and a bit of curiosity in International Relations led me to choose this course. The curriculum, in fact, prepared me well for further academic pursuits. For improvement, educational excursions and internship opportunities should be made available. The exam is held twice a year on semester basis, with papers set at a moderate to difficult level.

There are limited on campus placement opportunities here, especially for Arts and Eng Hons students. Most students focus on higher studies, competitive exams or off campus opportunities after graduation. The college provides basic guidance through teachers but formal placement drives are rare.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum provides a comprehensive retrospective of literature from the Old English period to Modern period, while also including English works by Indian authors to demonstrate the diversity and evolution of English literature over the years. The current curriculum I believe requires more seminars and lectures from guest faculties on contemporary research and topics.

I love to read English and it's easy for me so that's why I choose it. There are a total of 50 students in this course. Our teachers are very helpful and talented and also support us. We have 2 semesters after 6 months in 1 year. Exams are comfortable for the students who study the subject. It is difficult for those who do not study.
