Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I had a major intrest in technology since and I want to make my career in this field so this was the major reason I choose btech as an option. Also I got to know from my fellow mates that this college had good placement opportunities and a better curriculum than other colleges as the syllabus keeps on changing with time according to whatever's going on in the world of Tech so this helps to keep us updated as well. I would say there's a little bit of stress because of the continuous assessment given to us but that being a part of course needs to be done. Some of the faculties are very good. There are almost 3 CA's for every subject and out of three, two best CA's are considered. Then there is mid term and end term for a weight age of 20 and 50 marks respectively.

Internships Opportunities

4

I'm in first year currently so I don't know much about the internships and all but from how much I've heard from my seniors and people arround me. We can also choose any internship on our own or the college will provide us with better options along with guidance. A lot of students gets their first internship in ending of the second year or the beginning of third year. The college also supports students if they get internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

The students became eligible after completing 2nd year so most probably in the third year a lot of students get internship. Almost 500 companies visit the campus every year such as Microsoft , infosis , Amazon etc and an avg of 7lpa is offered majority in btech I don't have the knowledge of other courses. The highest package last year was 64lpa. Almost 60-70 percent students are placed every year. My plan after my degree is to first get a good package and then persue my job in a well reputed company and 4-5 years after that i can maybe start a startup once I gain enough experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The sem fees for btech is approx 120000 per sem but after scholarship my per sem fees is 86400 along with this we have to give 4k every sem as exam fee. Which is same for all semester. There is no increment of tution fees as it remains the same till the completion of the course (until and unless a UMC case is filed against you). The complete cost of my course would fall arround 7L . The hostel fees per year is around 1L along with 35k for the mess (3 times meal). The charges vary according to number of services we opt such as laundry is for 5k per year. You can also apply for financial aid and if your application is accepted you will get a 30 percent fee waiver. Or you can also give lpunest to avail scholarship. Since it's my first year so I haven't taken any campus employment yet.

Campus Life

3.5

Every college has its pros and cons and soo is with my college I've completedy first semester and I'm about to complete the second. Would say my overall experience in this college is good as I made good friends and have interacted with nice people overall. Talking about events then I can proudly say that there must be no college where these many events are conducted every month everyday you can see something happening. There are regular concerts, technical fests, hackathons, cultural fests events held frequently which helps keeping us busy and keeps us learning. There's a huge lib where a student can peacefully study and can access any book they want. A wide range of books are available. Every classroom has AC .. enough amount of chairs... projector etc. there's a huge playground of sports..a indoor stadium and sports complex present inside the campus. A whole building is built known as division of student welfare when one can come and enroll in any club say literary dance music etc etc

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Student can opt for 1,2,3,4,5,6 seater according to their convenience. There's a wardrobe a seperate washroom for every room. AC or non AC rooms are also available. Cooler is provided in the rooms with no AC.and geysers for winters. Mess food is quite average it is good sometimes and okyish sometimes. As you register yourself you'll get a call and they'll tell you the entire process of hostel booking and residential related services eventually. The hostel and mess is quiet affordable according to me as we can choose according to our preference.

Admission

In order to be eligible for btech cse course your 12th percentage should be greater than 60%. There are various criteria for admission 1)on basis of your 12th percentage 2)on the basis of your jee percentile 3)cuet 4)lpunest exam(entrance exam) The lpunest is mandatory to give as it provides scholarship benifits and is done in 3 phases the max scholarship is provided in phase 1 . The application form can by directly found on the main website of lpu and one can fill it you'll get a call in 1-2 days for confirmation. The entrance exam(lpunest) was quite average it includes 5 subject English, physics, maths, chemistry and aptitude. Each subject contains 25 questions which needs to be done in the duration of 2.5hrs in total.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
