Great but Expensive

The first-year course would not feel relevant to you considering it contains subjects from every engineering field however, the course after that takes on relevant topics and practices considering your subject area. The current system of evaluation includes a 30M mid-semester exam, 50M final exam and a 20M internal assessment that is a combination of assignments and quizzes.

A lot of companies that come for final placements offer internship opportunities to 3rd and 4th year students. Companies such as Deutsche Bank, JPMC, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Amazon offer internship opportunities to 3rd year students to get a chance at a PPO.

The tuition fee increases each year depending on the management. The total tuition fee is around 18-19L and the hostel+mess fee ranges from 1-2L depending on your room type. There is a scholarship for academic merit that provides a relief of 20% of tuition fee subject to conditions. There are scholarships for EWS wherein around 50-60% of the tuition fee subject to number of seats and your rank.

There are two main fests in MIT, the tech fest TechTatva in October and the cultural fest Revels in March. The cultural fest draws big-name performers for concerts such as KR$NA, Javed Ali etc and both fests contain several events catering to varied tastes. The sports facilities at MIT are top-notch, starting from its indoor sports complex Marena(paid) and other sporting grounds for sports such as basketball, cricket, football. There are a lot of Student clubs and student projects inside MIT that cover a broad variety of interests.

The rooms are quite good, however, the hostels are also expensive. Unlimited data on Wifi but speed is not all that good. Quality furnishings inside the room and cleaning services clean the room every alternate day. The curfew is at 10:30PM and gates open at 5AM. The mess food is like every other mess, generic and a bit bland.

You need to give MET Exam, personally conducted by MIT to gain admission to MIT in addition to your board marks. Minimum eligibility requires at least 50% aggregate marks in PCM/B and application dates are from January to mid-March. The application deadline and online forms can be found on the MIT/MAHE website along with guidelines on how to fill them. The exams are conducted twice for one academic year, once in April and May each and the best of two scores is the final score. The level of questions is easier compared to JEE but you cannot go back to a question after moving on from it, i.e, there is only one chance at attempting a question.
