- weather here in trichy is very hot, it very hard to cope up with it especially during summer

Course Curriculum Overview
Main motivation of people going in Instrumentation and control engineering is that this was the only circuital branch in NIT trichy that is available at their ranks. No one chooses instrumentation and control on their own. currently I am in 1st year so cant tell how curriculum is for real world applications. they should try and make the course interesting by giving us some projects which actually forces us to use our brain to do rather that us rote learning one day before exam and not knowing what we studied 4 years later. about exams: there is CT1, CT2, Endsem , 20,20,60 marks generally.
Internships Opportunities
there are on campus internships provided every year. There are many companies who come like Microsoft, PayPal, amazon, google. all the big companies come and if they like the student they get a ppo(pre placement offer) and it is generally 40l to 50l range
Placement Experience
placements are pretty good. median of instrumentation and control was 17 lakhs in 2023. for computer science it was 30 lakh for electronics and communications median was 24-25. total companies visited were almost 200. including google,Microsoft, amazon, Mercedes, mckinze. almost 95% of students get placed
Fees and Financial Aid
the tution fee is 62,500 and hostel & Mess fee is 42,500. for students in 1 to 5 lakh yearly income, the have to pay 1/3 of the tuition fee. for students below 1 lakh yealry income there is no tutiton fee. But Hostel and mess fee has to be paid irrespective of income category.
Campus Life
festember is the cultural fest happens in september, very fun fest, amit trivedi, salim sulaiman, neeti mohan, vishal-shekhar have all performed for festember. then there is NITTFEST which is interdepartmental cultural fest where all the departments compete with each other. happens in march Pragyan is the technical fest happens in jan end, feb start. there are various clubs, delta spider - coding clubs 180dc - consulting club
Admission
Admission process is pretty chill as eveything is done on josaa or csab. and after coming to campus the registration is done in 1 day only. So the day you come for registration you are allotted hostel and everything. For people who are not from tamil nadu, it gets a little confusing as we have to travel so far also tamil nadu is the least hindi speaking state in India. so always there is a communication issue. Faculty
the faculty to student ratio is 1:60 I would say most faculty are qualified but many seem not be qualified enough too. you can interact with teachers but mostly after when clss ends, sometimes if you have a serious doubt you can go to the department building and ask them the doubt but you will have to ask them at what time they can meet
