Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

When considering the course curriculum, there were specific aspects that really stood out to me and influenced my decision to pursue this course. For instance, the inclusion of practical, handson projects and case studies made the curriculum feel more relevant and applicable to real world scenarios .Additionally, the integration of industry and advancements ensured that the material we were learning was upto date and aligned with current practices in the field. However, there were areas where i felt the curriculum could be improved. For instance, incorporating more opportunities for inter disciplinary learning could provide a more hoslistic understanding of complex issues.Additionally offering more flexibility in the course selection or elective options would allow students to tallor their education to better suit their intrests and career goals.Personally,i found that having a balanced schedule of exams throughtout the semester helped me stay on track and manage the workload more effectively.

Placement Experience

4

i am still in 2nd year and i'm not much aware of the college placements honestly, but i have discussed about it with my seniors and came to know that most of them are placed in the college placements and some had plans of doing their masters and was not willing to take up the college placements. The students from 6th semester are eligible for campus placements .The name of the companies are Cognizant ,infosys ,amazon ,deloitte, hcl,a ccenture and 98 more. 360 offers were made in the year 2018-19, with the highest package of 28.4 LPA and the average placements was for 6.68 lacks per annum, 90 companies for summer placements with Rs40000 highest stipend.Placements at amrita has been excellent .Based on the statistics made by college ,the percentage of students getting placed are 100% .The highest salary is paid by RKN Project. My plans after getting the degree are not yet planned.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my experience, the college had a tuition fee increase policy that was typically reviewed on an annual basis. While fee hikes were not uncommon, they were generally reasonable and within a predictiable range. This allowed students to plan ahead and budget accordingly. The complete cost of eduction depends on percentile scored in amrita entrance exam , for me it is 16 lakhs for tuition fee and 4.5 lakhs for hostel. The compulsory charges include fees for uniform and stationary, records For students seeking financial assistance the college offered various scholarships.these included merit bases scholarshipsfor specific demographics or academic acheivements. Names of the scholarships are : OP jindal enginnering and management scholarship [amount upto 30k],Foundation of excellence india trust scholarship,JK Lakshmi vidya scholarship for under graduate 2023-2024[amount upto 30k],Nirankari Rajmata Scholarship scheme 2023 for engineering [scholarship upto 75k]

Campus Life

4.5

My experience with campus life was vibrant and enriching witha strong focus on both academic and social aspects. The college provided a dynamic environment that encouraged students to explore their intrests, engage in various activities and form lastion connections with pears. The famous tech fest that happens in our college is anokha and cultural fests include aarpo, ugadi, tamil new year. There is an tech fest conducted by mechanical students namely INFERNO. Anokha is usually held in the month of march, and inferno in the month of september. It would be more precise to say that there are always fests happening in the campus for every 3 weeks. The library has a wide range of journals, books, and databases to support academic research and learning.Classroom facilities include a projectors and new benches and chair with 6 fans and 10 lights for 1 room.Sports and extracurricular activities were an integral part of our campus life there are many facilities for sports and a gym is also there

Hostel Facilities

4

the hostel facility provided by the college was quite comfortable and convinent for students living on campus. Each room typically accomdated four students and has 4 cupboards , 2 tables , 4 chairs and 4 beds ,2 fans and 2 lights. The quality of meals provided in the hostel mess was generally satisfactory but was not upto the expectations. The meals don't contain the essential amounts of protein and vitamins that a student should take, i find the menu is very routine daily and doesnot contain any special items. The registration process for hostel is done after the admission,it is just a simple process taken care by the wardens of repective hostels . The student and parents has to complete the necessary paperwork. The hostel and mess fees in amrita is generally affordable and can be considered as a good deal to stay in hostel rather than staying in pgs and room outside. The room allotment is based on the first come first serve basis.

Admission

i felt that the admission process was very hard. It was tuff to get into amrita because the cutoff was very high for the cse and related branches in scholarship category .The application process starts with an Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam AEEE.The cutoff was aroung 95 percentile to get into cse core branch and respectively for other branches. There is one more category namely non scholarship category, which is related to the board exams of 12th class, the marks in maths physics and chemistry are considered and total percentage in these 3 was expected to be above 90.I found the application form, fees, dates online. There is seperate reservation for tamil nadu students. Two entrance exams are conducted within a span of 2 months and the difficulty is same as JEE mains .The aspects that i didnt like in the process was, it was totally online and poor communication.

Faculty

4.5

In my college, having smaller classes meant that professors could really focus on each of us.We got more time to intract with them personally, which made learning more interractive. Also it felt like we could ask questions more freely and get personalized feedback, which made it super helpful. Our professors hade ton's of experience in their respective fields , many have done research publications in top journals , attented international conferences and published their paper. The information about the achievements, publications and eduation of the professors is transparent so that students can know more about them. We can interact with them whenever they are free, we can even interact daily if we have work with them.Unlike other colleges ,here the professors interact with us a lot and moreover they act like our mentors if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
