Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

my dept is civil so i neither hate it or like it.its good to see that my course connects with more practical things like building houses, bridges as compared to other branches but the sad part is our placement percentage is low.for further academic pursuits civil is the best option i must say as you can give many govt exams in it like ssc-je ,gate, ese etc.you can pursue phd and become professors at elite institutes.you can go for highers too.i think course curriculum is too old that needs to be modified.smart boards can be a part of modern teachings.in a sem two 20 mark exams happen which is called here ct-cycle test and at the end end sem happpens of 40-50 marks.

Fees and Financial Aid

tuition fee is 62500 per sem.but if your familiy income is under 1 lakh a year then on providing proper income certificate you will be freed from all your fees.if your income is between 1-5 lakh then your 2/3 rd of fees will be relieved.for mess and hostel you have to pay 41900 per semester.here you cant get any relief even if your income is too less.the scholarships here are recall alumini, nsp ,sdef, saf, rhodes, reliance and many come with time to time.i havent got any scholarship till now but some of my friends get it.

Campus Life

3

three fests are here pragyan ,festember and nittfest ocurring in months of of july, march and september respectively.lots of books and journals are there in our library.you can have access to any of them for free for a month.there are many technical clubs like spider and delta and non - technical too.sports facilities are awesome with couple of indoor courts and 3-4 outdoor courts.students run certain teaching clubs where they visit slum areas of trichy and teach those who cant afford it.

Admission

there are two exams jee main and jee advance.with jee main you can enter 26 iiits and 32 nits situated in our country.so to enter nit trichy you have to give jee main exam with above 75% in your respective boards.so to get civil here as i have got you must get a rank between 19k-22k if you are general and for obc 26k-30k can do your work.these should be your crls-common rank list.after you get the required rank you should participate in josaa and csab councelling where you will fill your choices as per your rank.josaa will undergo 6 rounds and after it csab will happen in two rounds.50% reservation here for state quota. jee main happens twice every year.i think state quota is reducing the quality of nits as they get the same dept at high ranks during admission process.

Faculty

4

the faculty to student ratio is 25.you are always welcomed to their cabin whenever required.they are so humble and helpful.they always say to their students if you have any doubt just come to my cabin.all faculties here have done their phd form elite top iits even many have done their mtechs from top nits and iits.many professors here are gold medilists.they have done lots of research papers and carry awesome academic record.i interact with them whenever required.after class whenever i have doubts i talk to them.they will also help you in research internships if you want to do under them.they approach to teaching is very simple and effective .they explain each and every thing to you and will also share ppts for your betterment.

Placements are generally decent, with students becoming eligible from the final year. Several companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in technical and non-technical fields. Packages vary by company, and placement opportunities depend on skills and performance. Many students secure jobs, while others pursue higher studies or competitive exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
