What Students Say

Likes

The Infrastructure and obviously the prestige associated
The culture of Hostels and seniors, the opportunities available all across
The fests, guest speakers, co-curriculars, sport facilities etc

Dislikes

The overall pressure and the competition which often becomes toxic
The Mess food should be better, it's quite bad most of the times and the overall menu is also just not fine

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is not latest but it's comprehensive, I have done courses which help in the real world industry . Overall the exams are made quite difficult but the grades are given relative to others so it's fine

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 250000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are available, although lesser than the placement opportunities, mostly the big companies come for the Interns and if you build your profile well you can land a good one, there are tech roles available, consult roles , core roles and then others like Finance etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

Mostly all students get placed on campus, the packages may vary depending on overall profile, the campus placement happens after the 7th semester and mostly all big companies and all roles are available.Companies visiting include Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Samsung, Honda, Jaguar etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee has not been increased as such, also scholarships are available depending on family income, like for income less than a lakh per annum, tuition fee reduces to zero, between 1-5 lakh per annum it's 1/3 , and above 5 lakh it's full. But overall the fee is fine given the facilities like the labs the IITs provide, there are also various scholarships available

Campus Life

There are many Cultural Clubs like Quizzing, Debating, Literary, Drama, Dance, Music which are quite fun and engaging. The Technical Fest is called Tryst, held normally in March The Annual Fest is Rendezvous , held in October. The library is huge and mostl of the required things are available there in both offline as well a online copy.

Admission

Admission Process for IITs is fairly known, it's through JEE Advanced which is after qualifying JEE Mains , After getting a JEE Advanced rank we are required to fill JoSAA Counselling and seats are allotted according to preferences and availability.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty members are experts in their respective fields , most of them are quite approachable and open to providing opportunities , the lectures are in a large class of around a 100 but the Faculty members pay attention to every student provided the student is open about it.

My experience studying at NSIT

Likes

Placement was among the best and most the top companies visited
Infrastructure was appreciable with no major shortage of laboratories
Senior-Junior interaction compensated the average faculty

Dislikes

Outdated curriculum negatively impacted the conceptual clarity
Too difficult to secure good grades due to strict marking
Mediocre support provided to student led initiative

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was evidently outdated and irrelevant to modern engineering challenges and could have severely disadvantaged students' learning outcomes. Although, interaction with seniors compensated this.

How Good B.Tech. from JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA is?

Likes

Here in Jamia the faculty is very experienced in their fields , they make you feel Engineering and not to just read books. there teaching methods are amog the top in the nation
the curriculum not just focus on your engineering but also focuses on your personality development.
the infrastructure itself gives you the feel of oldness and the reputation of the college.

Dislikes

one bad thing is its less availability of Hostel rooms .
there is a very strict rule of 75% attendance .

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

The Dream College Life

Likes

The campus is completely different from the whole city, it is more cleaner and is quiet peaceful with various different beautiful views at different points and is not too big so could easily walk through the campus.
Has really great architecture of the buildings and is surrounded by really intelligent people including some over the top profs and some really great minds from the country.
The night life is completely different and is one of the best part of staying in campus.

Dislikes

some of the hostels are quiet old and need renovation.

Placement Experience:

If you study passionately and have decent communication skills and some important competencies, I assure you that you will secure a position in a great company. Here at IIT Delhi, you earn what you work for; you can receive salary packages as high as 2 crores, but some offers start as low as 4 lakhs per annum.
