Likes
- The campus of BMCC is quiet vintage and it is in the city but still feels like its in the outskirts of the city.
- The teachers are very well versed with their subjects and are very friendly with the students.
- The college also has a lot of extra activities which is very helpful to enhance our skills and the resume as well.
Dislikes
- The timings of the college is too early for someone who lives far from the college it is quiet a task to reach at 7:30 in the morning.
- Classrooms are quiet big which causes trouble in hearing the teachers for the back seat students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college itself adds weight in the resume so I opted for BMCC whereas B Com was the course was the one which I always wanted to do. There are various projects, assignments, field visits which helps to gain practical knowledge also the college provides internships in the third year for banking students for one month so that they have some experience before passing out. The college should try and include mic facility for the teachers as some of the teachers are very soft spoken which makes it difficut in hearing them. The study material for the course is suggested by the teachers and te books are available in the library which is the plus point. Exams are conducted twice a yera which are the semester end exams apart from that some teachers may take class test instead of the assisgnments.
Internships Opportunities
As per my experience there were banking internships provided by the college one was at Cosmos Bank and another at Vidya Bank. The internship was for one month it was unpaid and it provided students and internship certificate which helped them in their resume.
Placement Experience
The college has a programme under which it guides and teaches students and makes them ready for interviews. The placements provided by college are totally based on how the student performs in their interviews. Known companies such as Deutch Bank, Deloitte, KPMG etc visits the college for placements. (I didn't appear in any interview for placement hence I have rated it the lowest)
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for B Com course comes around 30000-40000 (3 years aggregate) which is afforable as per the college standard and level of education provided. There are a few extra credit courses which have fees ranging from 1000-4000 rupess some of the courses are free of cost as well. Scholarship is also available at the college for which the college puts out notice every year.
Campus Life
Students will absolutely enjoy their campus life as there are various fests, different days are celebrated and the campus itself is very beautiful to enjoy. The college has two different fests like TROIKA and ASTITVA ehich helps students to become more social make new friends and just learn how to manage and enjoy an event, The playground of the college is huge, the classrooms are big and clean, the classes have good ventilation , there are tress in the campus, the washrooms are clean, library is massive and study area is also very appropriate to study. The library provides the students with all kinds of books they want and also the previous year question papers.
Admission
For the B Com course there is no entrance exam as such your 12th marks will be considered and as per that merit lists will be announced. The form is to be filled online which the college provides on its website and then afterwards neccessary documents such as marksheets, leaving certificate are to be submitted to the college physically. There are different merit criteria for various sections such as SC/ST/OBC/OPEN.
Faculty
The teachers are well qualified, well spoken and very helpful to their students. The teaching method is very good as there are digital boards in each class. Students generally are low in attendance as compared to the overall strength of the class like around 50-60 students are present in a batch of 130 students. Teachers always encourages students to particiapte in extra curricular activities which is also good fo ones personality devvelopment. All the teachers are always available to the student except when they are in another lecture.
Other Applied Colleges
Ness Wadia College of Commerce | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com]
My preference was BMCC as it is the top college for commerce in Pune and I was in the first merit list so I enrolled in BMCC itself.
